Scientific experts have have already extincted humanity several times during my lifetime. and they are doing it again.

Earth Is Headed for Disaster, Interdisciplinary Team of Scientists Concludes
By Paul Basken
An interdisciplinary group of 22 scientists, combining paleontological evidence with ecological modeling, has concluded that the earth appears headed toward catastrophic and irreversible environmental changes.

Their report, in the June 7 issue of the journal Nature, describes an exponentially increasing rate of species extinctions, extreme climate fluctuations, and other threats that together risk a level of upheaval not seen since the large-scale extinctions 65 million years ago that killed off the dinosaurs.

Mr. Ehrlich said he foresees a series of dire threats to humanity, many virtually untouched by political leaders, including climate change, water shortages, and the widespread use of man-made toxins. Even a single repercussion of one of those, such as water scarcity leading to nuclear war between India and Pakistan, could devastate populations worldwide, he said.

“Generally the scientific community has spoken many times,” Mr. Ehrlich said, “but nobody’s paying any attention.”

The reason that no one is paying attention is that these same liars have been crying wolf over and over and over again, and their perverse motivations have nothing to do with saving the planet.

HuffPo version of the same story:

“The most recent example of one of these transitions is the end of the last glacial period. Within not much more than 3,000 years, the Earth went from being 30 percent covered in ice to its present, nearly ice-free condition. Most extinctions and ecological changes (goodbye, woolly mammoths) occurred in just 1,600 years. Earth’s biodiversity still has not recovered to what it was.”

I find it interesting that with the millions of different species of plants, animals, bacteria, fungi, etc., out there (with new ones constantly discovered), that scientists claim that diversity was higher during the last ice age. How can they possibly know this? Data please.

Humans have killed many large mammalian species and have decimated a lot of ocean species for food. But this is far different from AGW-induced extinctions.

  2. Nobody ever payed much attention to this crap until green parties started controlling the parliaments of many countries with their minority seats. Now even politicians who think it’s bullshit have to pretend it’s serious stuff.

Where’s Bruce? Shouldn’t he be here telling you those Ehrlich predictions “might” have come true?

  4. Andy DC says:

If no one is listening, all one has to do is read the fairy tale about “the boy who cried wolf”. These same people have cried “wolf” so many times that everyone is sick of them. Yet still no wolf in sight.

  5. But they got to be right one day, right?

  6. PaddikJ says:

    1. The report comes from UC-Berkeley, the entire campus of which is under a giant tin hat (must have a Romulan cloaking device).

    2. “. . . Anthony D. Barnosky, a professor of integrative biology at the University of California at Berkeley, which coordinated the work in an 18-month project that inaugurated the university’s Berkeley Initiative in Global Change Biology.” If your job title barely makes sense, and your (new) department’s name makes no sense, what are the chances that anything you say will make sense? (best guess: Splashy paper-of-doom is a publicity stunt for the new Initiative).

    3. Paul Erhlich? Really? Still journalism’s go-to guy for biology quotables? Is not one of these people capable of doing a 15 minute check of his record? As for Erhlich, he’s been hilariously wrong so many times, and still keeps coming back for more . . . the only remaining question is, is he shameless, or just generally clueless?

    4. They’re all (macro) biologists. The only remaining question there is: Is (macro)biology a pseudo-science, or just a non-science? Either way, it doesn’t seem to attract the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Ha ha ha ha ha, Paul Ehrlich, ha ha ha ha……..
