Romm says it is almost 80 degrees in Greenland
But they are using that new kind of snow, which doesn’t melt until it hits 100 degrees.

Twenty eight degrees exaggeration is close enough for government work.

was that for one day? Where?
Romm has borrowed from the Jimmy Hansen extropolation model and is able to take a temperature reading in his back yard and then not only know exactly what the temperature is 1200 miles away today but also what it will be in the year 2100. Here’s Romm in 2009 explaining that only fringe wackos don’t know that the temperature in 2100 will be 15 degrees higher than today, and that unless your name is Noah your going to drown from sea level rise. BTW is just me or is Joe sounding (and looking) a little like Barney Frank?

Not in Greenland, not today. The highest temp I see is 57 deg F.

I wonder if the moron didn’t try converting deg F to deg F (not a typo) by multiplying by 0.555, and forgeting the freeze point offset altogether. It comes out to 42.5, which is close to the average.
Going to CP, though, I see that it happened last Tuesday. (May 29)
Checking the records shows that it indeed got that warm.
A combination of an intense high pressure area and a Foen wind.
My point is that one reading on one day at one rocky location tells us nothing about the climate of Greenland.
Same again today. Sisimiut, Kitsisut and Kangerlussuaq are 21C, 21C and 19C respectively; 31%, 31% and 32% RH. Most other places are reporting under 10C.
Suspiciously dry air around those places, smells like Foehn to me.
They are located on a shelf of bare rock which heats up during the day. Temperatures there don’t indicate anything about conditions on the ice sheet, and it is ridiculous that Romm tried to link them.
Why bother adjusting temps when you can just make them up?
Oh, that’s the same thing.
wasn’t that reading next to the BBQ? Mastodon steaks?
it was next to the air conditioner
76 degrees, man!! Time to pop at top and chill out, dude!

Yeah it’s a joke alright
There’s a 1200Km distant (745 miles) between Auckland and Invercargill and here are the actual current temps from the NZ Met Service.
Auckland: Currently 19C . Invercargill: Currently 2.7C. We’ll use Auckland’s temp and make Invercargill’s 16C warmer. 🙂
