I’m just back from a UHI bike ride at 11pm. It was 60 degrees in the Safeway parking lot and 50 degrees in the open space on the opposite side of the intersection.
Weather is calm, and overcast with either clouds or smoke.

Just goes to show how sensitive temperatures are to local effects and how easily temperatures records can be manipulated. Then if all else fails, you can always just lie about the temperature. With their trillion dollar agenda, what is a few extra degrees between friends? It’s all about saving the planet, you know, which according to David Appell, needs to be done right this very second.
The RSS linear 30 year trend is presently 1.3C per century, which if it continues at that rate, would represent a net benefit for the planet.
Satellite temps start in 1979, near the low point in temperature for the last century. Trends starting in 1979 are meaningless.
I live near Nashville, TN and used to drive to the airport around 6 AM weekly. I crossed a ridge line, about 150′ or so. During summer months, more often than not, near the crest my windows would fog over in seconds. The car was “chilled” enough that when it hit the very real edge of the UHI the warmer, humid air would condense. I always kept my hand near the wiper control.
Clearly that Safeway parking lot is a major emitter of CO2!
The 50 degree area is suffering from a local lack of IR downwelling.
Obviously the 60 degree area is the “officially” correct reading for all of this neighborhood.
