Prince Charles said he had “watched in despair” at the slow pace of progress on the “critical issues of the day,” in a pre-recorded video address in Rio.
He urged world leaders to adopt a more integrated approach to issues such as climate change and food security.
Waiting for the worst to happen would be “too late to act at all”, he said.

How much money have the greens/environmentalists had since the last Rio conference? Where has it gone? What have they done with it? Why is no one being held to account?
Charles is not a very bright man (see his scholistic record, poor even with all the help money can buy). His upbringing hasn’t helped: surrounded by the type of people who boil numerous eggs just to ensure that his breakfast isn’t ruined, he has been mislead into believing that he has something to offer in addition to his first-class honours in adultery.
With breathtaking stupidity born out of arrogant ignorance of the contrary data, he undoes the much heightened esteem for the Monarchy engendered by the Diamond Jubilee.
He probably thinks we should join the Euro which is the greater danger for destruction of the planet.
One might argue, cheek in tongue, that he hasn’t had a promotion in 43 years and thus his professional record speaks for itself.

I have never understood the American fascination with royalty. After all, we fought a war to rid ourselves of kings and princes. “Royalty” is just a concise word for “well dressed slave master.”
The worst that could happen is Charles becomes King. Long live the Queen !
There’s not much hope there. At 86, the Queen is already the oldest monarch in British history.
I used to pack tourists into the high sierra using mules and horses and thus met many people from other nations. The English people I met were enjoyable with a funny outlook but I discovered in talking to them that they don’t even have the right to butcher their own chickens. I was amazed to learn the number of ways in which their freedoms are curtailed . The sad part is America is rapidly catching them with all these insane laws the leadership feels we should be saddled with.
