Belief In Catastrophic Global Warming Is Consistent With Being Stupid

“Can we say this heat wave is a smoking gun for climate change? No,” MacDonald said. “But … it’s consistent with what we would anticipate.”

Can we say that belief in catastrophic global warming is a smoking gun that a person’s IQ is sub-standard?   No. But it is consistent with what we would anticipate.

It’s summer and it’s hot. That is “consistent with what we would anticipate”.

It is not only stupid but irresponsible. Warming is at worst temporary and only marginally. A severe cooling, even an ice age can happen in a very short period of time. As the average ocean temperature is only about 4°Celsius, a new ice age is possible in less than 12 months.
This would be clearer in any discussion, if climate would be defined as the continuation of the ocean by other means. http://www.whatisclimate.com/

Dr. Tim Ball has notice cherry-picking events and patterns that support that claim on his blog and counters it very well. See http://drtimball.com/2012/current-global-weather-patterns-normal-despite-government-and-media-distortions/

The headline “Belief in Global Warming is Consistent with being stupid” says it all for me. These people who believe in this either are to incompetent or unaware to realize what’s really going on, or they have an agenda to fulfill. What really does it for me is when they say that the debate is over, when they in fact do realize that this is only a scientific theory at best. Makes no sense because in science you have hypothesis which is something almost any scientist can come up with, but a theory is something that is WELL ACCEPTED in science. Clearly, with climate change as hotly debated as it is, it doesn’t even meet the qualifications of being a theory. The only statement in science that shouldn’t be debated is a scientific law, but even then, we still see some people challenge it using new information, so the debate is really never over is it? Hopefully, one day these loons will figure out the true consequences of spreading this misinformation and propaganda, because if we see drastic global cooling in the next few decades, the public will hopefully come to their senses and realize what’s truly going on. Take into account the sun nearing a grand minimum in activity, the oceans cooling, volcanic activity, and the gore effect, there’s no reason not to believe that some major cooling should be in our future.

“Can we say that belief in catastrophic global warming is a smoking gun that a person’s IQ is sub-standard?” ….. Uh, I’m going with YES. There’s so much empirical data!

  8. Jeff D says:

There’s evidence that lower IQs correlate with conservatism, and it’s obvious that holding conservative political views correlates with a denial of anthropomorphic global warming. It does not necessarily follow, however, that everyone who denies anthropomorphic global warming is stupid. Only a majority of such people are stupid.
