The claims being made that they “predicted the US heatwave” based on climate science are complete BS. The models didn’t predict it, and the heatwave only covered about 1% of the planet

How do they attribute the heatwave to global warming, if they don’t even understand what caused it?
Steven, they continualy give you fodder to shove down their throats. It’s beyond pathetic the way they contiualy lie and twist and turn at every little weather event. They are thieves on the highest scale. They are liars with every word they speak. The apathy and lack of clear thinking on the part of the average American is what allows this situation to exist. This country is getting what it deserves because we get the leadership that we allow. The bankers are stealing our money through the federal reserve system and the so called climate scientists are working with them to take away our ability to live well. We wouldn’t make a pimple on Thomas Jeffersons ass. The forefathers couldn’t have visualized the level we have fallen to , or maybe they did because they sure warned us of the consequences if we allowed to happen what has come about.
Say, speaking of predictions , my memory which is good recalls that Joe Bastardi predicted the heatwave that we experienced recently as early as two months ago and possibly even before that. In the same prediction he also said that we should look for a cold winter so probably should have a large supply of firewood. I also note that he is the only one to make the prediction both early and accurately. The warmists as usual are making their predictions after the fact.
When will they be offering $2.00/minute phone charges for personal readings of my climate future?
Sea level rise, sea ice melt, warmest year ever and warming oceans are four totally pathetic lies that they continue to spew. It looks like the “hot spots” are quite localized, not nearly 10% of the globe.
They’re blaming the wet and cold summer in Britain on global warming, too. Any localized phenomena is now a target even though for years all we heard was “weather does not equate to climate” when massive snowstorms and record-cold temperatures occurred around the planet. Since the predictions of large tropical storms and destructive tornadoes hasn’t panned out, the heat wave is the next best thing.
Except when Hansen predicted in 1981 drought portion regions in the US;

Drought in the US happens on regular cycles. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day, which is two times more often than you.

SOunds like you got a huge fan of you…
“Even a stopped clock is right twice a day”
At least you are admitting that Hansen has been right. But according to Lucia, who guest posts on Anthony’s WTFUWT blog, the chances of this heatwave occurring without the influence of global warming is only one in many thousands;
http://rankexploits.com/musings/2012/using-us-data-looks-like-1-in-anything-from-2000-to-166667/
So it seems that the head of NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York is right a lot, lot more than twice a day.
Thanks for letting me know that the 1930s never happened.
No idea what you are trying to claim. Lucia’s data set starts pre 1900.
Theory that doesn’t match data is crap
I’m curious – where are these claims being made?
Good point. Where are these claims?
Laz,
So how did CFSv2 do this year as compared to last year? http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/2012/2012GL051383.shtml
The real problem is there are thousands of predictions. Whenever the weather dart hits one, prescience is claimed.
It’s a very tired meme.
Don’t believe there are thousands of predictions? google “heat wave” models predicted, over 1.6 million hits
And how did this prescient 2011 heat wave predictor fare this year?
