It has been known for years that cities make rainstorms more intense. Romm rolls yet another gutter ball.

Cities incite thunderstorms, researchers find

Summer thunderstorms become much more fierce when they collide with a city than they would otherwise be in the open countryside, according to research led by Princeton engineers.

Alexandros A. Ntelekos and James A. Smith of Princeton University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science based their conclusion on computer models and detailed observations of an extreme thunderstorm that hit Baltimore in July of 2004.

    I have watched on radar, as T-storms develop over rural interstate corridors, many times.

    This is stunning news-
    “The environmental advocacy group measured rainfall in the Los Angeles metro area since 1948…”

    So, they traveled back in time to measure the rainfall. Neat.

    Romm keeps getting stupider and stupider (and more desperate by the day).

  5. Yet strangely most of the scientific literature on this topic shows no increases in damage costs relating to weather events. Weird, huh?

    I TOTALLY trust anything said about climate by anything that calls itself an “environmental advocacy group.”

    I TOTALLY trust anything said about economics and government by anyone who calls himself a “community organizer.”
