Pachauri Proves He Is Scientifically Incompetent Again

Railroad engineer Pachauri demonstrates once again that he understands nothing about science

“it’s possible that part of this huge body of ice (Greenland) could collapse, and fall into the ocean which would lead to several meters of sea level rise.

Mindless drivel. The Greenland ice sheet is a 3 km thick chunk of ice spread across a 1000 km wide island. You could visualize it as being a thick piece of paper. Can you imagine a piece of paper lying flat on a table, collapsing?

But it is worse than it seems. The land under the ice sheet is depressed due to the weight of the ice above it, and is bowl shaped. Furthermore, the island is full of mountain ranges buried under the ice – which prevent lateral movement.

Perhaps Pachauri  thinks that ice cream can spontaneously jump out of a bowl? What a maroon.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I saw a picture of pachauri once , the guy looks like he belongs in a mental ward . Say , something is going on with Anthony at WUWT , he is offline until Sunday and up to something he is calling unprecedented . I can’t believe he used the word unprecedented hahahahahaha , after all the hype generated by the use of that word by the warmistas . Anyway I am anxiously awaiting the revelation of WUWT !

I believe he looks like one of the cavemen that used to be on the Geico commercials…

    • Brian G Valentine says:

      Anthony sez:

First, I am well. This isn’t a health issue for me or my family.

Second, my announcement has nothing to do with FOIA issues or other sorts of political or social theories being bandied about on other blogs.

It does however have something to do with one of my many projects, it is still a “major announcement” and it has important implications that I’m sure everyone will want to know about.

My guess, Anthony has proof of thermometer bias at National weather stations or something like that.

      Like this needs “poof”

  3. John says:

Steve – Could it be we have the Code to Mr/Mrs FOIA bombshell?

WUWT – Just saying they (the AGW crowd) have not acted in the way the group had asked them to open honest debate?

  4. John says:

Steve I have always loved your wit and posts. Went to several other blogs and noticed they are all making the same comment so I was late to the party. Pointman says in part (pulling all moderators, and canceling vacation) almost impossible to think otherwise. Especially when he points the media to stay posted.

  5. Blade says:

Well whatever the WUWT announcement it is, Anthony sure has mastered how to keep us in suspense. My own two theories …

    (1) … Climategate event (key to zipped email and code, or FOIA identity)

    (2) … Legal action by Mann against websites including WUWT

I haven’t yet looked at other sites for clues. Let’s see if we can reason this out from his own words …

Something’s happened. From now until Sunday July 29th, around Noon PST, WUWT will be suspending publishing. At that time, there will be a major announcement that I’m sure will attract a broad global interest due to its controversial and unprecedented nature.”

That phrase “Something’s happened” is reminiscent of the Climategate I and II event for sure but not completely. “Broad global interest” would seem to reinforce this theory while excluding some local WUWT incident (stalker) or family health issue but does not rule out some broad legal action perhaps by Mann or his sycophants. That word “unprecedented” is the one clue that points away from a Climategate event as it has already happened twice so it really does not seem to apply to a Climategate, unless he is mis-using it or intentionally trying to throw us off the scent!

“To give you an idea as to the magnitude of this event, I’m suspending my vacation plans. I weighed the issue, and decided (much to my dismay) this was more important. I can go on vacation trips another time, but this announcement is not something I can miss now and do later.”

The phrase “magnitude of this event” again points to a LARGE Climategate type revelation or something that SERIOUSLY affects WUWT itself, he is returning to very intense adjectives which Anthony does not throw around lightly. The phrase “much to my dismay” I am taking as being applied to canceling the vacation, nothing more. More importantly leaning to (1): Since Anthony said “I can go on vacation trips another time” it implies an extended period of time is required like moderating the forum during Climategate(s) which would NOT be necessary if it was a mere legal action (no reason not to go on vacation anyway).

Media outlets be sure to check in to WUWT on Sunday around 12PM PST and check your emails.”

Talking about “Media outlets” places another vote on the Climategate side of the ledger to me. This is really leaning to (1) because the fact that he has a set time (3:00 pm EST Sunday) also seems to point to this as it tells me the announcement is completely under his control with no danger of 3rd party leaks (announcement of a legal action would not be completely under his control).

I’m gonna have to go with number (1) considering the current clues, but instinct tells me this is still a coin toss!

This latest nonsense about the so-called collapse of the Greenland ice sheet shows total desperation and total lack of credibility on the part of alarmists. Two hours barely above freezing is going to somehow destroy 10,000 feet of ice. Right! Sure! It is beyond insanity.

    • Marian says:

What’s the bet when the SH Summer comes around. Shock Horror. These fraudsters like Pauchari will say unprecedented imment collapse of the Antarctic Ice shelf as usual.

If all the ice melted from the Antarctic from memory there would be 2 large Islands left.

Anyway. Not sure if Steve’s covered this issue. The IPCC headed by Pauchari the UN has admitted it’s not a Gold Standard for Climate Science. Just another ordinary UN organisation following ordinary UN rules. (They’re as we know FOS like other UN depts)

IPCC Admits it Isn’t a ‘Gold Standard’ Body

When Steve posted his code for the USHCN, AW was thankful for it. It relates to the work he does, so it’s a possible clue to what’s going on. Tried posting the link to the post in another comment, but my comment disappeared. Any way, Steve posted it on July 12.

The fleabag, Choo Choo Pachauri, had his own solar energy business based in Europe, but he simply could not make the business survive.

Then he came up with the secret to making money on products nobody wants to buy: Have the Government force people to buy the products. Along the way to figuring out out to make this vision a reality, somebody offered Choo Choo a job with the UN. The UN believed that global warming was a good method of making money (from people that actually have money) all along.

If you don’t believe me check the details yourself. Choo Choo is as phony as his toupee.

I’ve posted this map a couple of times – the idea of the ice just somehow sliding off into the ocean is just wrong

Anyhow, the “massive melt” refroze in a couple of days. No big deal. How does this stuff even make headlines…

    • swemson speaks says:

Pachauri is both an idiot and a liar, but what he says sounds sane by comparison to what some of our elected officials have been known to say: The following short video of one of our Democratic Congressmen, is a good example.

This isn’t satire folks… this is real testimony from the halls of Congress…

“it’s possible that part of this huge body of ice (Greenland) could collapse, and fall into the ocean which would lead to several meters of sea level rise.
Is that the meaning of the tipping point?

  13. swemson speaks says:

Climate alarmists love to talk about Greenland melting. And it’s true in a sense, because every year, some of the ice does melt. It’s caused by an annual phenomenon that we call summer. Of course, they never talk about the fact that it builds up again every year due to another strange event, which we call winter. C urgently, there’s a lot more snow & ice on Greenland than there was 50 years ago, as the photos below clearly prove. The photos show an early warning radar installation erected on Greenland back during the cold war. It’s quite a massive structure, and it stood tall on the Greenland ice sheet for decades, and is still there, although it’s deserted..

    http://www.swemson.com/upl/Greenland.jpg

The first photo, shows it when it was in use. Notice how it dwarfs the huge C130 Hercules supply plane, (its tail is 38 ft tall). The second photo shows it as it is today.

Pachauri, Hansen, Mann, Gore, and all of the other assorted loons, liars, conmen & mountebanks are so stunningly full of crap that it boggles the mind to think that anyone listens to them anymore.

Thousands of years ago, a primitive witch doctor told the members of his tribe that the drought (or the floods, or the storms) they were suffering from were a sign that their gods were unhappy with their sinful ways, and that their only hope of surviving was to do exactly as he said. Nothing much has changed since then. Climate alarmism is still a tool that dishonest men use in an effort to gain power over others, or to enrich themselves at their expense.
