Someone gave me a good laugh this morning here when they commented that the last six months was the “hottest in US history.”
Weird, and I was thinking that would more likely happen during the summer. Here are the actual hottest six month periods in US history (based on USHCN daily data) with the listed month being the end month of the period.
Rank Month Year Temperature 1 10 1884 72.3148 2 9 1884 70.2974 3 11 1884 69.0078 4 10 1936 68.9492 5 10 1934 68.8574 6 10 1900 68.4994 7 9 1934 68.3717 8 9 1936 68.2988 9 10 1883 68.209 10 10 1939 68.1647 11 10 1998 68.1628 12 10 1933 68.1146 13 10 2007 68.0039 14 10 1921 67.862 15 10 1901 67.8594 16 10 1938 67.8125 17 10 1922 67.7998 18 10 1885 67.771 19 10 1963 67.7116 20 10 1941 67.6986
Oh dear.. 2012 didnt even rate..
What data did “someone” use to prove their statement?
*cough*
Well 2012 will no doubt show up come October, but 70 degrees in Chicago during March isn’t very competitive with 110 during July 1936
lol.To some history did not begin before they came out of nappies??
ER i mean hicup you know what i mean 🙂
