Obama told us that Afghanistan was the “Right War” in 2008. We have now been in Afghanistan for two years longer than the Soviet Union was after 1979.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

It’s the same war Jefferson fought, the same war in which my brother served 1990-91, and in which my nephew served twice recently. It’s the same war that Charlemagne fought.
We do not have the luxury of deciding which war is ‘right’, we did not start this, it is fight or flight.
You have veterans in the family, the new enemy of the state they are fighting for.
IMO, the right war would eliminate the threat (people responsible) asap. Let the Afghanis figure out the next regime and make clear that their existence is dependent on them not making the same mistakes as the Taliban. Staying for over a decade is a waste.
Don’t you have a military doctrine that says that you need to be able to fight two losing wars simultaneously or something?
Afghanistan never attacked the USA.
Neither did Germany.
Did Korea? Vietnam?
