August 2012 is below normal in the center of the US
Look for NOAA to upwards adjust about 16 degrees and declare 2012 to be the hottest summer ever.

This is interesting because it demonstrates that current climate doomsayers are likely making the same mistake that Paul Erlich made in assuming mankind wouldn’t make advances in finding new resources to deal with problems. Here is a comparison of yield per acre of corn in 1988 and 2012 in Illinois. The expected yield in 1988 with normal rain was 129 bushels/acre while the yield in 2012 will be 116 bushels/acre despite severe drought conditions that alarmists think is the worst ever. In only 24 years we’ve developed corn that will grow almost as much in drought conditions as corn grew in ideal conditions in 1988.
