I enjoy your site , you have reawakened my love of history . As to the superstitions of today I know there is nothing new under the sun and mankind whose knowledge isn’t based on the rock will be blown whatever way the wind pushes . I also think that most men especially christian men , aren’t as gullible as some percieve them to be . I think they just lack the courage to speak of what they perceive.
It is no coincidence that the moral decay of our times occurs in parallel with a new pseudoreligious movement; the greenies have taken the superstitions inherent within pantheism to old backwaters, thinking that their own brand of Armeggedon is the true one.
I bought a weather rock. The trick is proper positioning. Actually more reliable than a GIGO model.
Some examples of the instructions for the weather rock include:
If the rock is wet, it’s raining.
If the rock is swinging, the wind is blowing.
If the rock casts a shadow, the sun is shining.
If the rock does not cast a shadow and is not wet, the sky is cloudy.
If the rock is not visible, it is foggy.
If the rock is white, it is snowing.
If the rock is coated with ice, there is a frost.
If the ice is thick, it’s a heavy frost.
If the rock is bouncing, there is an earthquake.
If the rock is under water, there is a flood.
If the rock is warm, it is sunny.
If the rock is missing, there was a tornado.
If the rock is wet and swinging violently, there is a hurricane.
Bravo ! Deliver one to Mann and another to Hansen but resist the temptation to mount it on their heads.
The alarmists have cried wolf so much that people are now oblivous to wolves, real or imagined.
