So why is Mike Seidel of the Weather Channel spreading such blatant misinformation? 1936 was much hotter than 2012. He posted the image below on Twitter

The Weather Channel has become the MTV of weather. I used to be able to count on them for forecasts and local radar. Now, even when I have severe weather approaching, all I can get is lifeguards and whirlybirds! They need competition…
I have radar and local forecasts on my Internet favorites and seldom watch TWC anymore. I get exasperated with TWC for the same reason. I expect current weather analysis, instead get fluff, propaganda and women dressed like prostitutes strutting their stuff.
Hey, that’s exactly why I stopped watching it!!
Yes, I wish we had a network that didn’t care about giving you all the BS on the side, just gave you the weather. The liberal bias and MSNBC news on the Weather Channel during the morning is why I, like many others have stopped watching it.
I have removed them from my program guide. I, like Andy, rely on internet favorites (NOAA, believe it or not) for radar, and have no use for the Weather-drama-queen Channel.
I’d be willing to bet even John Coleman has stopped watching.
Same here, I rely on NOAA, at least I can get my daily weather without propaganda.
