Arcticio (@arcticio) says:
You call the ice flakes of first image an ice pack? Well, some euphemisms intend to amuse, lol.
Below is the image he is referring to , with the scale attached.

Those ice flakes are as large as 2000 km^2 or 30 Manhattans.
If a Manhattan of ice calves off a glacier in Greenland, it is gargantuan world shattering news. But 30 Manhattans of unmelted MYI in the Arctic is a “flake”
No wonder they are so very frightened of global warming. 😉
No Steven, I think Arcticio (@arcticio) meant say that Arcticio (@arcticio) is a flake. That makes a whole lot more sense.
+10
could it be that the one “Manhattan” form the glacier is by far more ice than 30 Manhattan sea ice?!?
I prefer smaler Manhattans
Chereio old bugger….
Sea ice is no longer important? Thanks for clearing that up.
You are producing horsefeathers
The hottest temperature ever in alaska was 100f in the 1920s, you didn’t know that did you steve?
That was natural heat, which is different from man made heat.
I stand corrected on the date, it was 100f in1915 in fort yukon alaska.
