Within five minutes, police were contacted by a boat captain offering his vessel but the message was not acted onThe first local police patrol arrived at 17:55, but the two officers did not try to find a boat despite guidelines recommending an immediate reponse to gun attacks
An 11-strong elite Delta force team from Oslo arrived 14 minutes later
They were forced to abandon their own overloaded dinghy for two civilian boats and landed on Utoeya at 18:27

The good guys should all carry guns . One brave person with a handgun could have ended that situation and saved lives. But hey , elitist societies dictate that the common citizen has no business with a gun . Here in America , in many places the good guys carry regularly and the bad guys are less agressive because of it .
How many shootings in good ole US of A compared to Norway?
Just asking?
Almost all of them are in heavily Democratic gun controlled cities which vote 75-90% Obama.
Hey Adam! An intelligent question would be how many gun homicides per 100,000, Norway vs USA. The answer is that Norway has about over 2.2 per 100,000, and the US has about 3 per 100,000. Not really a big difference. The real telling figure is that of non gun homicides, which are much greater than that of guns homicides, in both countries.
Then there is Switzerland…

In a year you can expect 5-15 fatal shootings here. And roughly 1 in 10 has a gun. We are a hunting people. Quite a fraction of the deaths are plain accidents.
Yes indeed , accidents with guns in America used to be more common before the NRA instituted their Eddy Eagle safety program. Now in states and school systems where it has been given coverage the accident rates with guns has dropped. Not all school systems will allow the Eddy Eagle program due to blind hatred for guns and the NRA in particular. Train a child in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart therefrom.
