Frightening News About The Year 2000

The Arctic melted and we all froze and starved to death.

“Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions….By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.”

• Peter Gunter, professor, North Texas State University

“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”

    • You need to learn about human beings. We don’t like Nazis.

      • Jean-Paul says:

I just went to the site of Daphne Tremayne : this is a hoax. A joke. “Buy baby credits” with a 10% rebate! Or “10% off your next purchase of Green Tremayne Funeral Credits!” And “15% off Eco-Friendly Blunt Trauma Pet Termination! No toxic drugs or chemicals,” with the picture of a vet ready to strangle a Labrador dog… Very good : it’s 80% fun with a 15% rebate!

      • Eric Barnes says:

        Wow. Bizarre.

    • Eric Barnes says:

I see where your priorities lie Ms. Misanthrope. Do you hate all people equally? Or just those that have too many babies?

    • gator69 says:

“As a family, set a date when your pet will be euthanized. One great way to teach children the value of pet euthanasia is to turn the occasion into a family celebration. Let’s say you’ve set March 10, five years from now, as your pet’s euthanasia date. For the next five years, celebrate March 10 as your pet’s special day, with a family party and perhaps a visit to your pet’s future burial spot. Teach your children to think of the occasion as a birthday in reverse.”

I laughed so hard I almost choked! Ms Daphne is a real card. 😉

    • Andy DC says:

We should embrace gay marriage and outlaw straight marriages, as hideous straight marriages produce evil, unwanted, unneeded children who are bad for the planet (sarc).

    • Daphne Tremayne

      You must be joking.

If you are not joking you are evil.

    • RobertvdL says:

I.ve got more or less 40 Australian birds. You euthanize one by one or as a group?

  1. gator69 says:

    There’s that consensus again!

I had almost forgotten that starvation scenario from above, but it only seems like yesterday now, this is what they used to guilt my parents and frighten us kids. I used to have EPA stickers on my school books. The left has used our school systems to promote their agenda since before Prohibition, which took two generations to accomplish. The second had to be brainwashed in school first, then become eligible to vote.

  2. Les Johnson says:

Steve: Tremayne is a parody site. At least, I pray to god it is. One page offers Blunt Trauma Euthansia coupons for pets.

  3. Les Johnson says:

Yep. He is trying hawk a book. Read the fine print on his site. Not without humour, and an original marketing job, but still spam.

  4. ozspeaksup says:

Do you always read the small-print? Usually the folderol in the disclaimer is boring as hell! Daphne Tremayne is a fictitious character in the book Biodiesel: A Novel by George H. Monahan. In fact, everything at this website is satirical. Instead of wasting your time surfing the net, why not spend a few bucks and read Biodiesel: A Novel available on Amazon.com. Come on, cheapskate! Stomp down a big Carbon Footprint and buy your copy today! Don’t wait for the movie. Move it., slowpoke! Why aren’t you on Amazon.com right now buying the book?

I couldnt believe anyone this crazy was for real…and she isnt:-)
    thank god! or whatever deity:-)

Steve, you should probably delete those posts rather than leave them so your commenters can click on them.

Most likely it is simple spam drumming up Google-Juice. See here for more examples (website is the blog at DansData.com, a nice guy down in Oz, expert in tech matters but ironically an AGW dumbass himself 🙂 ).

Anyway, you are probably rising in WordPress and Alexa rankings and due to the nature of this blog they can directly submit comments bypassing the usual email and link exchange methodology.

What they accomplish (besides a few hits adding to Google adsense) is nudging their site up in Google PageRank.

The reason you should delete the posts is that Google is now cracking down on sites that have spam links and you may get mistaken for those that do it on purpose. From that link …

“This still doesn’t make it a good idea for blog-owners to take link-buyers like KASA up on their offers, though.

For a start, all you get, besides however much money they offer, is this worthless fluff-content that only exists to link to some site that frequently has nothing to do with the site on which the fluff appears.

More importantly, if Google notice you’re engaging in link-buying schemes – or have been so deeply idiotic as to allow links to link-buyers’ sites to appear on your site for free – they’ll punish you by reducing your site’s PageRank, as well as that of the link-buyers themselves. Serious offenders can be erased from Google altogether until they perform suitable penance.”

More to read at the site.

    Congratulations Steven!

Your arctic newspaper clipping posts are read by veteran German Journalist…
    http://notrickszone.com/2012/09/01/veteran-german-journalist-calls-claims-of-unprecendented-arctic-ice-melt-gross-nonsense/

“At the website http://www.real-science.com/arctic there’s an entire series of international newspaper article facsimiles from various years that document a number of profound Arctic climate fluctuaions earlier. The tenor of those articles, like today: The sea ice at the North Pole threatens to disappear”.

After a years-long spell where climate catastrophe alarmism had to go without without new record data, it can now enjoy a warm shower with Arctic sea ice. But on whether we are dealing with a record that goes way back, that is however very much in question.”

Pretty cool. To bad it is the old site URL.
