Fruits And Nuts

I took a tour of the New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins the other day. I like their Fat Tire beer, but most of their beers taste like they have Drano in them – which they describe as being a “hoppy taste.”

They kept constantly reminding us about their concern for the climate, which was  hysterical given that their product is purposely designed to generate as much CO2 as possible.

The parking lot is organized so that the higher mileage your vehicle, the closer you can park to the door. At the end of the tour they distribute a newspaper called the Matterhorn, which is devoted to listing climate apocalypses.

I went out last night and ordered a Corona instead of a Fat Tire.

  1. My company has a flagship product in its 8th major release and I named it V8. No one has complained about the fossil fuel connotation.

hopefully with a Lime inserted into the bottle with feet up!

Being American beer, it’ll be fizzy piss anyway!
For real beer, try the following.

We drink that cheap wine. Every time I buy it, I had to laugh at the CO2 statement on the box.

  5. I hope that Samuel Adams rep never mentions anything of global warming. He’ll lose my business.

I wish there were an easy way to boycott leftest products. I have marked Fat Tire off my list of beers I like.

Ugh. I was stuck at Denver Int’l for 9 hours yesterday because of quite obviously CO2-caused drought-forming hailstorms (they may have been precursors to Al Gore’s ‘hurricanes-spinning-the-wrong-way-on-the-movie-poster-for-An Inconvenient Truth’). The hail was obviously larger and more intense than at any time in human history due to man-made CO2, plus it acquired the ability to target the evil CO2-spewing aircraft that I was supposed to fly, causing damage that required finding a new plane. During my time there I enjoyed a few Fat Tires and Ranger IPAs (both New Belgium), but now that I’ve read your piece I may have to find a new brew (for the next time evil CO2 tries to kill me with hail). On a more serious note, Randall Hoven had a recent piece at American Thinker on the ‘backward adjustments’ to the NASA’s temperature records. The more press (well, ANY press about this) the better.

You poor, poor people. No decent ale, stout or pilsener.
    Try this:

Another product on my boycott list. Anyway, Fat Tire is good beer but I won’t miss it much.

  10. I asked the PBS NewsHour’s Paul Solman about CO2 in fizzy drinks in 2008, and the idea that ‘big CO2’ could take an anti-regulation position to protect their industry. To my amazement, he answered with a tangent on the idea of individuals sequestering CO2 in their garages in fizzy drinks.

See: “Would you consider doing a report on the carbonated beverage industry and its impact on global warming?” http://www.pbs.org/newshour/businessdesk/2008/06/would-you-consider-doing-a-rep.html

I would say that my favorites are Paulaner Salvator and Celebrator. Both are from Germany naturally. They are usually found side by side on the shelf at better stores.

Well, we got a few really good, tasty beers here … One can easily sell them to the World, and the World would not be unhappy … Some “pils” (“pilsner”/”lager”), like Cristal (Alken) or Jupiler … Some “heavier” beers like “Duvel”, or quite a few “Trappist”, or “Trippel” … But unfortunately, as in all old Western countries, Government gives out a lot of phony economic signals … Some entrepreneurs therefore think that, if you include “green” or “sustainable” in your production or marketing story, profitable heaven will immediately and unconditionally follow … What do you expect then ? … We simply have to go through this phase …

  13. edcaryl says:

Corona or Tecate, both are good choices.

I’m waiting for poor yeast to get the blame for global warming.
