A ‘first final cut’ of Craig Rosebraugh’s new film about the power of the oil industry, the global warming disinformation campaign, and the BP Deepwater Horizon oil blowout disaster was screened on September 13 at the international conference on Culture, Politics, and Climate Change in Boulder, Colorado.
The disparity between science, popular opinion and political action on climate change continues to be far and extreme. My hope is that with the revision of this film exposing the widespread and heavily-funded denial campaign, we may help allow the science to prevail and provoke political action to curb the warming of the planet.
I receive exactly $0.00 per year to do this.
However, the University of Colorado received almost a million dollars to study the effects of global warming on Prairie Dogs in Boulder, despite the fact that Boulder is cooling.
I’d like to see proof of the amounts those *%$# are claiming that any oil company gave to skeptics.
I’ve got plenty of proof about how much at least one oil company has given to “climate research institutes” in the UK and elsewhere.
It’s even reported in the annual reports.
The amount of money poured into the AGW scam is huge compared to the pittance spent by those organizations on the skeptical side of the debate. According to a Congressional Research Service report, $68.4 billion in federal money was spent between 2008 and 2012 to address man-induced climate change. By comparison, the Heartland Institute has 5,000 supporters and an annual budget of $6 million, only a small portion of which is spent on global warming issues.
The AGW alarmists lie about everything. Massive amounts of taxpayer funding are wasted each year by greedy pseudo-scientists in government and academia who continue to manipulate climate data and bend the facts to keep the research money flowing as they scramble to preserve their collapsing “end of days” global warming fantasy.
Projection. 😉
Not all, but many idealogical or quasi religious system require a “devil”. In this case this is “Big Oil” or evil corporations. Proving the existence of the Big Oil Conspiracy is beside the point.
ExxonMobil gives money to alarmist groups. They don’t fund sceptics. The only heavily funded ones are the warmists, because they receive billions of dollars in grants. There’s no science to this, so their crusade of “the science will prevail!” will end in laughter, since they don’t even know that the main foundation of their lunacy, global warming, has not happened.
Sometimes you have to do a deal with the devil in order to save the planet.
I feel sorry for the team, and have a fundraising idea. I will randomly pick an average temperature “anomaly” for 2022 and put it against any of the climate models they want, even odds, any amount of $$$. Closest estimate to the actual wins.
Steven,
If you are getting big oil $$$ can we who post on your blog in support of your fine work please come over and party on your boat? Just give me the secret handshake and I’m there. I’ll bar tend.
But if you are getting $0.00 maybe we’ll just hang out at the local sports bar. Hell, I’ll buy you a beer. Just let me know.
