    That is why Romney needs to unabashedly emphasize a goal of energy independence every day between now and the election. It is a great rallying point that most moderates and independents will agree with. Not to speak of the jobs it would create.

    We must disengage ourselves from that awful part of the world. We can no longer afford to let the environmentalist nutcases interfere with what is in the national interest. Energy independence should be the cornerstone of Romney’s campaign, much like Kennedy wanting to put a man on the moon.

      Good point. Where possible, tie energy policy to Arab dependence and Arab promotion. Similarly, tie deficit spending to China dependence and China promotion. I also say get real, and use real scare tactics with China and Arabia, because the threats are real. No mambi pambi puritan soft-sell, that won’t shock the voters out of their seeming complacency.

    Next stop, America! Nothing will appease the lunatic hordes from their frenzied tantrums. If we kowtow slavishly and bend over backwards for them, it still won’t satisfy the bloodthirsty mobs. It will only goad them on. When they scream “behead all those that insult the prophet,” we shouldn’t respond like Hilary Clinton with a cowardly declaration that Islam is a “great religion” and “a religion of peace.” Incredible.

    Those Islamists recognise weakness when they see it. They saw Thomas Jefferson’s America as weak:

    Well Gaddafi was entirely wrong about the effect the Muslims would have on him. With bombs, guns and terrorists, they hunted him down and killed him.
