Scott Mandia : 18th Century Satellite Denier

More evidence that alarmists are a bunch of mindless twits

Twitter / AGW_Prof: # of Intense Atlantic Hurricanes …

The reason that people use landfalling hurricanes as an historical measure, is because they didn’t have satellites and radar to detect peak one minute wind speeds at altitude in the middle of the Atlantic during the 19th century. Does Mandia think that Hurricanes are now steering clear of land just to help climate deniers? Is he actually as stupid as he pretends to be?

During recent years, there have been a number of Category 4 hurricanes that might have only been classified as weak hurricanes or even tropical storms if they had taken place at the same location during the late 1940s and early 1950s.

I’m about to get Lasik surgery. My vision will improve. I’ll be able to see clearly more things at a distance, that I couldn’t see before. That must mean, there will be an increase of things at a distance.

The downside of technology. The more we learn, the more we learn to worry about.

When one gets the answer they want, they don’t consider the problems with the methodology…even obvious things like no satellites in the 1950s. The number of landfalling hurricanes is a statistically relevant sample size (and really what matters more anyway), so there’s really no reason to not use that metric since it has the smallest systematic error.

Also, why is he suddenly against global indices? I thought the global picture is what these guys always claimed to be interested in?

Mandia says it’s comparing apples to oranges, that’s because he’s bananas.

@AGW_Prof ?! – nothing like wearing your badge on your sleeve. What a maroon. It’s well known only tw*ts tweet.

I think the posting says all that needs to be said. (In fact, it leaves me speechless.)

It’s worse then that. Mandia is a cretin, who pretends to be an educator.

There is the slight possibility that Mandia is pretending to be a researcher, which in a best case scenario might mean he isn’t actually infecting students with his mental slumgullion.
