Climate Experts Remind Us That They Are Stupider Than Monty Python Witch Burners

New York will endure catastrophic flooding from storms such as Superstorm Sandy every two years by the end of the century because of the impact of climate change, according to experts.

Superstorm Sandy was caused by a tropical storm colliding with a very cold air mass from the Arctic. Apparently they are expecting global cooling to dominate for the rest of the century.

Floods and other “extreme climate events” caused by rising sea levels are forecast to become a particular problem on America’s east coast, where waters are rising up to four times faster than the global average.

Except for minor localized short term fluctuations, ocean waters can’t rise any faster at one place than they do anywhere else. All of the oceans are connected. Perhaps they hope to stop post-glacial rebound through a carbon tax?

    “…according to experts.”

    Like this “expert”?

  2. “Just as people were better off and healthier in Britain under food rationing during the Second World War, so most of us would see a dramatic improvement in our quality of life if ‘carbon rationing’ were introduced by the government.”

Another example of climate ‘experts’ at work. The following video is about a calving event on the Helheim glacier in Greenland:

The dopes at Swansea University embarrass themselves and their institution with this statement about the floating ice which calved:

Oops – the 2nd vid was meant to be 138 seconds in!

  5. Actually, New York faced several disasters comparable to Superstorm Sandy, beginning with the one in 2001 (with the election of REPUBLICAN candidate Bloomberg as the Mayor).

These disasters hit again in 2005 (still as a Republican), and again in 2009 (he switched to Independent in 2007).

The four-year term means they’ll face their next disaster on 5 November 2013. Fortunately for them, Incumbent Mayor Michael Bloomberg is term-limited and thus unable to seek re-election to a fourth term in office.
