DC Police Shoot Man – And Emissions Regulations Finish Him Off

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9) — DC’s ambulance service is coming under fire again.

This time, a City Councilman is calling for a full investigation as to why an ambulance carrying a critically injured patient shut down on a highway .

The carjacking suspect who was shot by police died at the hospital.

Ambulance 19, carrying 34-year-old Nathaniel McRae never made it to the hospital. That’s because it shutdown on 295 for an emissions standard called a ‘regen process’

They have been trying to get an exemption for emergency equipment. A foam truck that was used at the WH for helicopters got an exemption but the articles states it was a lengthy and complicated process. This is the problem with govt., no common sense or reason. Exempting emergency vehicles should be a no-brainer, but govt. brains act overwise.

Well, we can take heart that the Eco death machine at least killed a car jacker…. rather than someone’s child.

Another example of an overall lack of EPA regulatory common sense. For a much bigger example, take a look at the recent administration proposal to privatize the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The “situation is in itself created by Obama in that a number of the TVA’s plants are older coal-burning units that predate parts of the Clean Air Act. Originally exempt from the provisions, as the EPA revises its standards to further limit pollution, the units need costly upgrades [exceeding TVA’s statutory $30 billion cap]…the TVA asked that its cap be increased so it could fund such actions. ‘Socialist’ Obama never gave that authority.” (http://tinyurl.com/qhexsvc)
You can see how this one will likely play out: TVA gets sold at a fire sale price (brokered by an O’Bundler), conveniently offloading the cost of government-mandated upgrades to the private sector. User’s rates are raised to pay for the upgrades, and the finger of blame gets pointed at evil greedy corporations.

Maybe we should start keeping score…
    EPA – 1
    CO2 – 0
