Hansen Takes A U-Turn : Confirms That Global Warming Reduces Severe Storms

“The cold freshwater coming out from Greenland is going to likely cause this cooling,” said Hansen. “That’s what I call the ‘storms of my grandchildren’ because you get cooling of the North Atlantic; warming of the tropics continues to increase, so the temperature gradient get stronger and it drives much stronger storms.”

I have already discussed the first half of this paragraph, but now let’s focus on the second half. Until today, Hansen’s entire thesis has been based on polar amplification – where the poles heat more than the tropics. This reduces the temperature gradient between the poles and the equator.

Now Hansen is arguing the exact opposite – that the equator heats while the poles cool, causing a larger temperature gradient and more severe storms. The implication being that the past warming should have reduced severe storms.

Wait until tomorrow and he’ll be arguing that heat is actually cold….. oh wait…

More climate change predictions from the crystal ball.

I think we should all encourage the simple partisan hack half wit.

Let’s get him to say the tropics are warming over and over again, because there’s no way in hell that’s ever going to happen as Willis Eschenbach notes here.

The top temperature of the oceans has been measured and it doesn’t deviate. Not even by a quirk of nature.

I think he is being totally consistent……… particularly since his frontal and temporal lobes were fried by LSD in the 60’s. Anything he says is correct according to the warming evangelistas.
    Just ask David Apfel.

There is a more important revelation in Hansen’s latest pile. He now says ““If we burn all the fossil fuels, that will take us back to being an ice-free planet.”

But in his silly novel, he claimed that burning all the fossil fuels will lead to a runaway Venusian heating, with the oceans boiling off.

    That’s quite the backtrack.

And there’s more. He also recently wrote- “Venus today has a surface pressure of about 90 bars, compared with 1 bar on Earth. The Venus atmosphere is mostly CO2. The huge atmospheric depth and CO2 amount are the reason Venus has a surface temperature of nearly 500 degrees C.”

Apparently atmospheric depth DOES have something to do with the surface temperature of Venus. Who knows what’s next…maybe he’ll actually disclose that the lapse rates on Venus and Earth are almost the same, even though Venus has thousands of times higher CO2 concentration compared with Earth.

    Heaven forfend!!!!

We have 36 days until the sun starts its retreat and 109 days until the freeze sets back in throughout the northern hemisphere:)
It’ll be interesting to see what the lying pieces of shit have to say over the next 3 months…
