For how much longer will the American people continue to put up with these health Nazis? What we’re witnessing is the “rule of law” being replaced by “rule by bureaucrats.” None of these self-anointed health commissars have been elected by the people. They’e declared themselves dictators. What happened to the old-fashioned concept of “governments deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”?
If New York City parents had any guts, they’d tell the City Education Department to go screw itself.
As it turns out, oils and margarine are much more unhealthy than butter.
No, butter is healthy.
When I increased my fat intake (I reduced sugar and fruit to maintain the same calories intake) it was easier to lose weight. 25 lbs so far. I found out I was less hungry and had more energy during exercise.
Nutrition, like climate science, has been simplified beyond the point of being very useful. Idealized body shape, fad diets, over large potions, and the inaccurate body-mass-index (just search ‘body mass index is wrong’ for more info) all help to keep Americans unhealthily fat.
Exactly tc, BMI isn’t a very good indicator for body fat %. That calls for a float tank. I’ll bet that the top 10 Mr. Olympia titles would all be considered “morbidly obese” going by the shoddy BMI scale.
The food/diet industry is capitalising on women naturally scaring themselves over their appearance, making them ever more fearful with yet more fad diets and scams.
Years ago, red meat and potatoes were bad for us, then they were suddenly full of vitamins and fibre, now they’re bad again. Anyone who isn’t a complete brainchild will understand the manipulation. Gubberment goons toe the line because they’re paid to do it.
No money in it, it’s ignored.
BMI was a statistical tool to allow clinicians to assess someones fitness. It has since been mangled by many governments in many countries. It’s biggest failure is that it is not body type aware. Are you very tall – your obese, or very naturally svelte your anorexic, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_mass_index
