NASA : Virginia Sea Level To Rise An Inch Per Year For The Rest Of The Century

Bruce Wielicki, a scientist at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, said the report is based on sound science and should serve as “a wake-up call for all of us here in Hampton Roads.”

The region is one of the most seriously threatened areas in the country because of its vulnerability to rising sea levels, Wielicki said.

Current research indicates that mean sea level could rise as much as 7 feet by 2100, he said

Satellites show that Virginia sea level is rising at less than one-tenth that rate, but no lie seems too big for government climate scientists these days.

Undoubtedly the press release is designed to get Pentagon research grants. The military has important bases there. Plus Washington is right up the Bay.
These warmer guys are so predictable.

  2. gofer says:

“Present-day carbon emissions will accumulate in the atmosphere for thousands of years, he said: “It’s not just your grandchildren that are going to be affected. It’s going to be five, 10 generations down the road. So the stakes are high.”

The statement is beyond meaningless. So what?

    • higley7 says:

Right! They are believing the 1000 year half-life adopted by NOAA, in their attempt to out do the 100–500 year half-life of the IPCC CO2.

There is no mention their “scientific” method, but dollars to doughnuts, it was a computer model, which is simply not science. There is no way that they used real data to reach such strange conclusions, unless they have adopted some strange assumptions.

  3. Turps says:

WTF this bull is so easy to measure and debunk that he should change his name to Pinochio, an inch a year can be measured in 3 months as crap.

  4. R. de Haan says:

The time has come to realize that this administration and the doctrines they want to introduce are all lies, no matter the subject: http://video.foxnews.com/v/2416232129001/dr-manny-health-care-law-is-full-of-lies/?intcmp=obnetwork

They lie in public, they lie under oath, all they care for is progressing their agenda.

Liars in general don’t get very far if they’re confronted with a vigilant public drawing the line in the sand…. Just concentrate and oppose any lie they make. We’re fed up with them.

    • Mike says:

A line in the sand is easily erased. Shifting sands, daily tides soon remove it. Better for a vigilant public to chisel in stone. Even iron erodes. Yes we are fed up with them all.

And so are the Tea Party member who take legal action against Holder and the IRS: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/05/29/aclj-files-lawsuit-on-behalf-25-tea-party-groups-against-holder-lew-and-irs/?test=latestnews

    Love it.

  6. Chewer says:

    Based on what?
If one assumes a terrestrial biosphere with a fertilization flux, then our best estimate is that the single half-life for excess CO2 lies within the range of 19 to 49 years, with a reasonable average being 31 years.

My dad was stationed a Langley 4 decades ago, and I could ride my bike to Virginia Beach from the house. My brother now works for NASA, and lives on the Chesapeake with his family, and they have been there for about 20 years. He tells me that the piers we used to crab from, and the beaches we used to walk are unchanged from our childhood. There was also an alleged hideout of Blackbeard’s not far from our childhood home, and to this day it is still well above high tide.

Harold Camping has far more credibility than these obvious frauds.

  8. Olaf Koenders says:

Steve, why do you still insist on calling them climate scientists? I’m sure there’s a far more accurate term, such as lying pigs, grant whores etc.. You’re just too kind 😉
