NPR Doesn’t Like My Comment

I listened to some of the most incredible government funded global warming propaganda on NPR yesterday. They have pulled all the stops on lying to the American public.

Impossible Choice Faces America’s First ‘Climate Refugees’

by NPR STAFF May 18, 2013 4:41 PM

Climate change is a stark reality in America’s northernmost state. Nearly 90 percent of native Alaskan villages are on the coast, where dramatic erosion and floods have become a part of daily life.  Perched on the Ninglick River on the west coast of the state, the tiny town of Newtok may be the state’s most vulnerable village. About 350 people live there, nearly all of them Yupik Eskimos. But the Ninglick is rapidly rising due to ice melt, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the highest point in the town — a school — could be underwater by 2017.

It appears that their censors didn’t like my comment.

Did they happen to point out the recent (yesterday) record low temperature for Newtok?
    ——————————————–

    From Weather Underground:

    Record Report
Statement as of 3:27 am AKDT on May 19, 2013

… Cold Bay Airport AK tied a record low temperature…

Cold Bay Airport AK tied a record low temperature of 27f. The record
was first set on this date in 1971.

  2. I wouldn’t be surprised if your comment went right over their heads, since you didn’t preface it with, “…first climate refugees…hardly”. And I’m sure the Steinbeck reference, to an utterly obvious and famous historical reality, ruffled their proud feathers–it was a good touch, remindful of Steinbeck’s erudition and humanity (the latter much needed now). Steinbeck is one of my all-time favorite writers, and the world needs his like to counter the Malthusian malcontents with whom we are deluged.

NPR discriminated against you just like the the IRS and EPA has been doing. One more Donk presidential term and we’ll be full on Soviet style. Internment camps for Conservatives may be in our not to distant future.

NPR has a puff piece up about Tesla Motors:
“Its Model S sedan (base priced at $62,400, after federal tax credits) ” – since when is the base price calculated after Tax credits (consumer subsidization) are applied, which a consumer may or may not be eligible to collect?

“And the company, headed by billionaire innovator Elon Musk, 41, posted a profit for the first time in its 10-year history — powered in part by zero-emission environmental credits.”
Basically they’ve made their first “profit” because the government forces other car mfr’s to give them money. (Tesla is the recipient in a scheme similar to carbon credits)

    • chris y says:

I think Tesla just discontinued the 40 kWh base model of the Tesla sedan because they had zero advance orders for it. To have any sort of reasonable range, you need the largest battery capacity model, which starts at around $80,000 before the federal government handout.

      • Justa Joe says:

From everything that I can see the Tesla Sedan is no less of a joke than the the +5,300 lb Fisker Karma. Obama & Co. can try to put lipstick on that pig.

Not sure what you mean re NPR’s “censors”. Your comment is displayed, as are comments citing wattsupwiththat.

  5. Billy Liar says:

Steve, you’ve got five likes, no dislikes, and answers from 3 people who think man is an all powerful Gaia destroyer. The remainder of the commenters are largely the ‘end is nigh’ brigade.

  6. Chewer says:

When you remove the natural mat, the active layer (area directly above the permafrost), is distorted and the seasonal freeze-thaw insulation is no longer insulating, so the glacial silt melts.
National Propaganda Radio couldn’t make Stalin any prouder.

Steve, may I please have the trove.nla.gov link for the 1954 relocation?

Alan Caruba manages to have fun with both the Friends of Earth and PBS at the same time:

FOE noted that “ABC’s nightly news program did only one segment about climate change last year. Meanwhile NBC’s news show did only four and CBS just seven segments to this critical issue.” Perhaps this is because these notably liberal news organizations have concluded it is not a critical issue?

Undismayed by the facts, FOE could only cite the taxpayer-funded PBS News Hour that “devoted 23 segments to covering climate change.” When the President is telling everyone that the climate is the greatest threat to the nation, PBS bureaucrats who know where the money comes from can be depended upon…

I would put our local government broadcaster the ABC yet further into unicorn flatus-land than PBS. Also they consume even more of my dosh, on per capita basis, that PBS does in the US. Julia has just given them another $100 million for them being good poodles.

You too, eh? I had a similar problem with NPR two years ago. http://www.wendymcelroy.com/news.php?extend.3987

I did finally manage to get my comment posted.

What are these NPR goons talking about?

It looks to be plenty cold in Alaska.
