On Frozen Pond

Experts say that the Arctic will be ice-free in a few weeks, so the polar bears will have to move to Colorado. See if you can spot the Heron next to the partially frozen pond below.

    Maybe you should seek govt funding for a Polar Bear sanctuary in CO, since the arctic is melting.

    Looks like the rainfall equivalent for FoCo on Apr 30/May 1 was right at 2 in. That’s 13% of our average yearly moisture. Prior to that storm, April had already given us about 22% of our average yearly moisture. So in a 31-day period we’d gotten over 1/3 of our average yearly moisture. Both Feb and March had >average snowfalls, and the rest of May/June typically deliver ~30% of our yearly moisture, so there’s a decent chance that our yearly precipitation total could be 3/4 filled only halfway through the year, and just “average” from now for the rest of the year will get us to normal yearly precipitation levels with 3-4 months to spare.
