Ox Flatulence Caused The 1607 Bristol Flood

On 30 January 1607 the Bristol Channel floods resulted in the drowning of an estimated 2,000 or more people, with houses and villages swept away, an estimated 200 square miles (518 km2) of farmland inundated and livestock destroyed, wrecking the local economy along the coasts of the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary, in what was then the Kingdom of England.

I used to work in Bristol, and there are some excellent pubs along the channel – like the Boar’s Head in Aust.

Boars Head – Aust

Note that climate change has caused palm trees to grow in England.  Nearby Devon had two inches of snow this week.

Since only the sun can heat the air, I guess lighting a campfire at night to warm up is pointless.

  2. Marian says:

Remember that Flood didn’t really happen according to AGW/CC believers. Just like the MWP. Along with so many historic pre-industrial era natural disasters, weather/climate events, etc. Only CO2 above 350ppm cause such things.

I know of know such climatologist who says such a thing. Most of them (97%) say that man is causing the current warming and that natural cycles can still occur. The earth is getting warmer right now and there is no known natural cause for it to happen.

Steve on this site hasn’t yet admitted to the truth that the earth is getting warmer, or pointed out some other natural cause for the warming.

Natural things can still occur. So can manmade things. Just today I read about a certain type of insect that never lived in this continent until now. Now that it has, it’s wiping out several species of tree. Man put that insect there.

Man has an effect on nature. Period.

      • How about Mann, Trenberth, Schmitt, etc. the only reason why you know of no such climatologists saying such things is because you’re an idiot.

      • Audie says:

Steve – could you actually refute this guy or are you going to call them names?

I don’t see any evidence so where’s your argument?

Will – they never said that man was the only thing that can change climate. They pretty much accept natural cycles that can happen, too. I think you’re putting words into their mouth that they never said.

Please give me a citation for that figure of 97% of climatologists. Or you make stuff up.

GREAT STORM IN ENGLAND. MOST TERRIFIC GALE OF THE CENTURY.
    AN ELECTRIC RAILWAY DESTROYED.

The Times states that the most terrific gale of the century has just visited England. Great damage has been done to the eastern and southern portions of England, and on the western coast of France. Tremendous destruction has been wrought by the storm, particularly in Brighton, the celebrated seaside resort in the south of England. The famous chain pier extending 1136ft into the sea has been totally wrecked, and the electric tramway running between Brighton and Kemp Town has been ruined.”
