Shock News : Plants Can’t Grow Without CO2

I was hoping that we could completely eliminate carbon from the planet, but then I remembered that my third grade teacher taught me that plants need H2O, CO2 and sunlight to grow.

Teachers just weren’t enlightened enough in those days to recognize that CO2 was going to destroy all life on earth.

Not worth it, as it would cost you an arm and a leg…

  3. Gator, you forgot 1 thing…….Beer

I believe the correct terminology is ‘beerium’, but like water soluble vitamins, it must be replenished daily. 😉

      • Beerium is mostly water with a small amount of yeast urine added for flavor, alcoholic kick, bubbly CO2, and aroma. Looks like even under the best of circumstances, a carbon based life for cannot get away from carbon alive. Isn’t that the point of those who insist we reduce our “carbon” footprint to zero?

I say, the footprint reducers should show some leadership and reduce themselves to zero first. When they are out of the way, we can go on enjoying the things that make life worth living. I don’t happen to like beer all that much but many seem to enjoy it and that is OK by me.

    I predict …

The next manifestation of group insanity will be PETPLANZ!!!

People for the Ethical Treatment of Plants

They will break into greenhouses and “liberate” their vegetable brothers and sisters who are being force-fed toxxxxxxxic quantities of eeeeevil CO2

    “Power to the Pea-pods!!!”

  5. Will the plants rise up and take their revenge on the Vegans?

i just taught 40 fifth graders the same lesson in today’s fishing class.

  7. Try asking them if 350ppm of CO2 is considered the upper safe limit for humanity (according to Hansen), why don’t we just work really, really hard and reduce it to 100ppm or so.

Think how much cooler it will be then…

  8. Andy Oz says:

I swear I’m getting short of breath now that CO2 has reached 400 ppm. And for my part to help reduce CO2 caused CAGW, I will breathe out only twice a minute instead of 4 times a minute, thereby immediately halving my carbon footprint. (I know I will be able to pick up some carbon credit cash for doing that.) Getting a bit dizzy though……………and sleeeppyy….@#%………zzz.
    😀
