Arctic temperatures have been below normal for a month. The Arctic is the fastest warming place on earth, according to Hansen’s magic purple crayon.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Antarctica is on fire! The penguins are going to die! We are doomed!
It is forty below instead of sixty below!
I see it is wildfire season in Antarctica again! The ice beetle has devastated the ice pack, leaving vulnerable rotten ice that catches fire easily during the dry season.
Maybe the two poles are tag-teaming? Earth has ways to compensate for imbalances. Ocean CO2 turns into limestone, making acidity turn into a base.
Nope. No sign of anything catastrophic going on there.
Drifting station North Pole 40 at 82N keeps getting colder (now -9C):

Not looking too good for a “row-to-the-pole” this year. Damn.
It’s curious that Antarctica’s interior in this data set is showing 17.5C or warming or higher yet sea ice has been above the 1979-2008 mean since at least February and there is no evident change in the trend.
I have no idea were they get Antarctica’s interior T anomaly here. However as Antarctica is colder then the NH artic, one would expect global ice to increase in a anomaly flip.
