NASA : Tear Down That Map

NASA used to say that Antarctica is cooling

the interior of Antarctica is generally cooling

This must have made Hansen unhappy. So they replaced it with garbage.

The scientists estimate the level of uncertainty in the measurements is between 2-3 degrees Celsius.

They created a 0.05C trend by tacking on an error bar which was much larger than the trend. Enron accountants would be envious.

“NASA : Tear Down That Map” Is that a clever take on a Ronald Reagan quote?

  2. Billy Liar says:

Why have they left the artifacts of ice changes on the second map? Ice is colder than sea water so when the ice goes missing over the period of the map (81 – 07 I’m guessing from the name of the pdf file) there is an unreal rate of warming shown by the deep reds – see the Larsen, Ronne and Ross Ice Shelves. When the ice increases the temperature shows an unnatural rate of cooling – see the Amery and part of the Ross Ice Shelves.

It is also obvious that the two maps are based on the same data because you can the same artifacts on the first map. The rate/decade on the second map is half that of the first map – what caused that?

This is one of the many reason the warmist crowd has no credibilty with me. They constantlyspin these presentations in a way to suggest that warming is much more significant than it actually is. That’s called being deceptive.

I agree, it’s the reason the whole issue is collapsing and they are the main culprits of it. It’s ironic, they do this to spin and distort and confuse and all this does is make most people not trust them. Honestly, the NASA crowd is worthless.

  4. Traitor In Chief says:

…so the trend is ~.05 and the uncertainty is 3 C? Isn’t that special!

  5. gator69 says:

2-3 C! Why not just guess? Oh yeah…
