Nice Letter From The White House

Obama committed the full weight of American leadership to the fight against carbon pollution and climate change.

Fighting carbon pollution sounds like a great idea. Humans are 18% carbon, and are polluting the environment

Equally as disturbing is that plants actually need CO2 to grow, which Obama says is toxic like Mercury or Arsenic

All plants are CO2 Eco terrorists! They must be monitored by the NSA and then terminated by the Dept of Homeland Security. They have been harbouring dangerous toxic CO2 and disguising it as oxygen and carbon.

Obama is using carbon to get the MSM off the IRS and NSA disasters. Realpolitik!

  2. Olaf Koenders says:

That does it. I’m going on a low oxygen diet right away. With any luck I can get some greenies to follow..

An other point of medical interest, is that the average human being exhales 900 grms ( 2 lbs ) of CO 2 in a 24 hour period. Now with 7 billion humans on this planet, you do the math. I would strongly suggest that those who are proponets of anthropogenic “global warming – hold their breath and feel good about saving the planet.

Even more important is that the CO2 which is an elixor of life, eventually becomes the core of the structure of almost all life on the planet, including us. We either eat the planets or the animals which have eaten the plants.
Missing in the little diagram above is that the solar energy gets stored in plants and then that energy eventually is stored in what we call follil fuels. The CO2 simply goes back to from where it came. It is an attack on science to call it carbon pollution.
The irony is that CO2 should be elevated in stature by the green movement because it is one of the main ingredients along with warming sunshine and water that will help make the planet greener.
Does anyone remember a 7th grade life science textbook where a cow is standing on a hill giving CO2 to a tree and tree is giving O2 to the cow?—
Actually in the photosynthesis shown above the products are sugar and cellulose, an isomer (same formula) as sugar.

What has co2 ever done for us?

    Abstract
CO2 fertilisation has increased maximum foliage cover across the globe’s warm, arid environments

[1] Satellite observations reveal a greening of the globe over recent decades. The role in this greening of the ‘CO2 fertilization’ effect – the enhancement of photosynthesis due to rising CO2 levels – is yet to be established. The direct CO2 effect on vegetation should be most clearly expressed in warm, arid environments where water is the dominant limit to vegetation growth. Using gas exchange theory, we predict that the 14% increase in atmospheric CO2 (1982–2010) led to a 5 to 10% increase in green foliage cover in warm, arid environments. Satellite observations, analysed to remove the effect of variations in rainfall, show that cover across these environments has increased by 11%. Our results confirm that the anticipated CO2 fertilization effect is occurring alongside ongoing anthropogenic perturbations to the carbon cycle and that the fertilisation effect is now a significant land surface process.

A Global Assessment of Long-Term Greening and Browning Trends in Pasture Lands Using the GIMMS LAI3g Dataset

Our results suggest that degradation of pasture lands is not a globally widespread phenomenon and, consistent with much of the terrestrial biosphere, there have been widespread increases in pasture productivity over the last 30 years.

      Jimbo,

Thanks for the links. POTUS displays appalling ignorance discussing CO2 – a trace gas essential for life. Breathtaking ignorance.
