Its worse than that…..Donate money to keep ice from cracking. This idiot thinks that sea ice cracking and moving is a sign of rapid climate change. Yea, the water up there never moved, the ice was thousands of years old before the invention of the SUV. What a DB.

Newsflash:
Global Sea Ice extent is higher than the annual max last year and seems to be on a tear higher than 2003 for this time of year. If it gets to 22 million, it will be a satellite era record global extent for the NH summer period (1979, 1996). The all time glbal high in 1988 of 23.5 million is in danger.

Extent is obviously fine. However, the thickness right by the pole itself is down to a metre in places, with another three months of melt left. It’s clearly possible there will be open water at the pole this year. Not that that’s indicative of any great problem, since there’s been open water there before. But I guess folks like Beckwith will make a lot of noise about it.

Uh-ho. I think that a cursory glance at the ice would show that it is an eccentric mass and not centred around the pole This is due to the fact that it is not a land based mass such as the Antarctic, it is entirely at the disposition of ocean currents, wind, storms etc. It can even girate clockwise apparently.
I’m very happy to put a bet on the ice level not reaching zero in 90 days. My limit would be about $1k because I’m one of those suckers who works for a living.
Sure there has been a general trend towards a low-ice summer (please note that for June the variation has been small, even after many decades). I’ll agree we have seen some trend towards warming in the Arctic summer. But no ice at all? None? If this guy won’t place bets then he is a scam artist… and if he will place bets then he is stupid.

I sure wish the alarmists would release their full 250,000 year Arctic satellite record, that would clear alot of things up.
What do you say to alarmists who come back with : “And yes the AREA is spreading as the ice melts and thins. That means the volume is going down as well as the height. LESS ice.” They compare it to a dropped ice cream cone on the sidewalk. It spreads as it melts, so it is wider but less thick and shorter in height. Thanks.
