   55000 deaths?? How about 1.5 -2.5 million deaths in Cambodia and possibly 1 million in Vietnam between executions and those dying in overloaded junks trying to get away from the North Vietnamese after our Politicians lost their stomach for fighting Communists and ran.

   You don’t believe we lost the Tet Offensive I hope…

   Why does no one ever mention that the Soviets and the ChiComs could have stopped supplying the NVA and ended it much sooner??? Oh yeah, it is all the fault of morons in the US who actually thought it would be a good idea to stop the spread of a Tyrannical form of government.

   Korea was our fault. WWII and WWI was our fault…

   But hey, y’all should be happy now that we are apparently helping Islam spread.

   By 1965, the war was essentially lost with 75% of South Vietnam already in communist hands. It was strategically very wasteful trying to reverse what had already been accomplished. Especially with an entrenched enemy in a jungle environment picking us apart. Wrong war, wrong time, wrong place.

     Nice agitprop. Can you tell me what percent the Korean war was lost when the ChiComs pushed us back into South Korea or before we fought back?? How about what percent WWII was lost before the US became involved or even after it?? How about WWI??

     Your numbers are meaningless due to the fact that the war was run more on politics than military might and effectiveness. In 1965 we had only recently transitioned from an Advisory force to somewhat full military engagement. Vietnamization was years away. Picking an arbitrary time in any conflict can radically change the numbers.

     Now, my question was about the Tet Offensive that became famous in the World Media for us having LOST!!! This was 3 YEARS after YOU say “By 1965, the war was essentially lost with 75% of South Vietnam already in communist hands.”

     If we were so in the hole already why did the Tet Offensive not actually take more land and why were the NVA losses so much heavier than ours?? Why was the Viet Cong ended as an effective fighting force?? Why did it take 2 YEARS before the NVA could start mounting effective attacks again?? For that matter, why, in the end, did we have to not only withdraw our troops but STOP military and financial aid to SV before the NVA were victorious?!?!?!

     In 1965 we had lost a total of less than 2500 people. In other words, we had barely STARTED to commit our own men!!! Now, on the flip side, Ho Chi Minh started fighting with virtually all of the country under others control. Should he have simply said F’it??? I think so. Going Commie is worse than being a French Colony. On the other hand, I wanted us to withdraw or nuke the north. It is STUPID to fight limited wars that kill more people and polarize everyone. All it does is increase the militarization of the world.

     I disagree with Tet being a Political failure. Although the hoped for uprising did not happen in Vietnam, the fellow travelers in the media declared it an NVA win and never stopped telling us we had lost and were wrong to be there without ever mentioning how the war would soon be ended without the Soviets backing Ho Chi Minh.

     “January 31-March 2 – In the Battle for Hue during Tet, 12,000 NVA and Viet Cong troops storm the lightly defended historical city, then begin systematic executions of over 3000 “enemies of the people” including South Vietnamese government officials, captured South Vietnamese officers, and Catholic priests. South Vietnamese troops and three U.S. Marine battalions counter-attack and engage in the heaviest fighting of the entire Tet Offensive. They retake the old imperial city, house by house, street by street, aided by American air and artillery strikes. On February 24, U.S. Marines occupy the Imperial Palace in the heart of the citadel and the battle soon ends with a North Vietnamese defeat. American losses are 142 Marines killed and 857 wounded, 74 U.S. Army killed and 507 wounded. South Vietnamese suffer 384 killed and 1830 wounded. NVA killed are put at over 5000.”

     Funny how we never heard much from the press about those 3000 enemies of the people executed or all the other executions and atrocities committed by the Viet Minh, Viet Cong, and NVA. But hey, the US had Lt. Calley so we had to be the devils!!

     Why did we not interdict North Vietnam so that the Russians could not supply them with AA guns and missiles, heavy weapons, infantry supplies, trainers and advisors??? Why was the US always demonized as in the wrong???

     By June 1940 the war was essentially lost with 100% of France already in Nazi hands. See also Czechoslovakia, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg. Of course this empire was dwarfed by the Soviet empire.

     The Communists capitalized on the natural racism built into the DNA of elitist whites in the Western World, correctly expecting them to capitulate when their Empire was swallowing up yellow and brown people. Nothing to see here, move along now.
