James Hansen : ‘This is the last chance’

6/23/2008

“We see a tipping point occurring right before our eyes,” Hansen told the AP before the luncheon. “The Arctic is the first tipping point and it’s occurring exactly the way we said it would.”

Hansen, echoing work by other scientists, said that in five to 10 years, the Arctic will be free of sea ice in the summer.

The alarming loss of sea ice which has grown worse each summer over the past several decades, has taken a sharp turn for the worse: this year the loss is right in the middle, the most resilient part of the ice cover. This could lead to a completely ice-free Arctic Ocean by September.

NW passage closed down… Stranded boats and Yachts. The Rowers were very lucky.

Where else can global warming hide? OK it is now hiding at the bottom of the ocean as CO2 teleports heat into difficult places to instrument these days. The physics behind it is getting amazingly advanced. Perhaps it will soon be discovered that CO2 teleports thermal energy through time as well as space? Maybe this explains the hiatus? Maybe it will be discovered that CO2 teleports heat forward in time and the instantaneous melting of the Arctic ice which the experts have predicted will not take place because their secret computer models have not been updated with the CO2 Tardis effect yet?

That reminds me of a 2004 Pentagon report. They predicted that:

“By 2007 violent storms smash coastal barriers rendering large parts of the Netherlands inhabitable. Cities like The Hague are abandoned.”

“Between 2010 and 2020 Europe is hardest hit by climatic change with an average annual temperature drop of 6F. Climate in Britain becomes colder and drier as weather patterns begin to resemble Siberia.”
