Prior to 1955, 100ºF readings were common in New York State. They rarely happen any more.
There are 30 HCN stations in New York which have been continuously active since 1930, and 90% of their 100ºF readings occurred with CO2 below 350 PPM. Ninety-three percent of those stations set their all-time record maximum with CO2 below 350 PPM.

Adding to that, according to NOAA, 80% of US extreme climate events occurred when CO² was under 350 ppm or before 1990 http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/extremes/scec/records
Isolating temps: The top 5 years when most records were set were all in the 1930s, when CO² was below 300 ppm
Coupled with 8 year hurricane drought, slowest Tornado season on record and the 62% Arctic gain, seems our best climate friend is .. more plant food!
I suspect my comment has been raised and addressed already. I would expect the absolute number of 100-degree readings below 350 ppm would be higher than above 350 ppm because there are many more years below 350 ppm. I think the appropriate comparison is the number of 100-degree readings per year, per thermometer.
Hansen says that heatwaves were impossible below 350 PPM.
