Breitbart : John Kerry’s Syria Proof Was A Recycled Iraq Photo From 10 Years Ago

ScreenHunter_17 Aug. 31 10.50

When John Kerry stood in as surrogate president yesterday making the case for war in Syria (Apparently Obama was leading from behind again. Either that or he wanted someone with the ‘Voice of God’ making the pitch for him. Sorry Mr. Kerry, only Charleton Heston had the Voice of God and you’re no Charleton Heston.). Kerry talked about and emphasized the ‘thousands of pieces of evidence’ we should look at for ourselves, things Kerry said he had witnessed with his own eyes. And this photo was one of them.

Then he repeated his challenge to look for ourselves. And I did. And I knew I had seen this ‘evidence’ picture, a long time ago. And I knew he was lying, again! And I knew what Kerry seems not to have learned yet. That in this age of the internet and information you can’t lie for long. You will be caught.

This picture was taken by Marco Di Lauro. Rather than try to explain it I’ll use his own words. The ones he used on his web site to describe it.

“Al Musayyib, Iraq – May 27, 2003

An Iraqi child jumps over a line of hundreds of bodies, in a school where they have been transported from a mass grave, to be identified. They were discovered in the desert in the outskirts of Al Musayyib, 40 km south of Baghdad. It has been estimated that between 10,000 and 15,000 Iraqis had been reported missing in the region south of Baghdad. People have been searching for days for identity cards or other clues among the skeletons to try to find the remains of brothers, fathers, mothers, sisters and even children who disappeared when Saddam’s government crushed a Shi’ite uprising following the 1991 Gulf War.”

  1. The Ol' Seadog. says:

John Kerry is a liar. He says France is the USA’s oldest ally. So where was the USA in 1870-71, 1914 -1916 and 1939-1941?

  2. Wyguy says:

Lying is a Democrat art form, they and other leftist excel at it.

    • Robertv says:

Without Bush and family and Co, Obomba would never have had this power so fast. The Patriot Act killed what was left of a free US.

      • Brian says:

Yeah… Aren’t the republicans on board with this?

These “people” can do whatever they want and we have little to do with it at this stage. All you can do is try and keep your hands clean by not voting for one of the “big two” in 2016.

  3. Brian D says:

Wow man, just WOW! How low must are government sink to get its way. Add it to the list.

What a sad, sad state of world affairs.

  5. Show me the video & quote where John Kerry referenced this photograph.
Do you know why you can’t?
    You’re lying!

    • Are you a complete moron, or just pretending to be one?

      • Pretending, genius. Why don’t you prove me wrong instead of calling names? Oh sorry, forgot you’re a conservative. Logic isn’t in your repertoire.

        • I’m reposting an article from another source. If you believe the article is incorrect, then prove it wrong.

Only a flaming asshole would show up and call me a liar over something I didn’t write.

    • Mike says:

I have no idea where this came from either. The BBC posted the incorrect photo but I can’t find anyplace where Kerry referenced it. Posting stories with one source is irresponsible.

      • Starting wars with no evidence is irresponsible. People who mindlessly support warmongers are irresponsible.

        • Mike says:

I completely agree. I also believe that skewing perspectives with misinformation is not helpful. I have to fight tooth and nail everyday to find the truth in the news, and it’s annoying when people just grab articles without vetting them thoroughly. I’m open to the fact that he may have referenced this photo, I can see that happening, I just want proof. If it can’t be found, then this is nothing but propaganda to influence people’s opinion.

        • The White House hasn’t produced any meaningful evidence. Cut the bullshit

        • omnologos says:

It’s not like we have only had honest reporting about faraway wars in the past…

The WH’s reliance on YouTube is beyond belief.

      • jim says:

good call mike, i’ve been saying the same thing all day. BBC did use this photo back in 2012 and some sites are using the ‘i fell of my chair’ quote from back then and attributing it to kerry’s speech. pretty poor for websites that claim the mainstream media are lying to you…

    • S says:

so why did US fight terrorism in Iraq and afghanistan and lots of american soldiers get killed there and now the US wants to help terrorism in Syria with wapon and many other things why US help the Saudi arabic and Qatar and all oil state in arabic golf where is no one have a personality right there ,, why many american soldiers offer their life for .. did you ask your self why .. why just right now US wants to fight in Syria just side by terrorist side ,, wake up AMERICAN PEOPLE ,,,,YOU WILL DIE FOR NOTHING ,, ASK YOUR SELF AND GET BETTER INFORMATION

  6. Actually, I apologize to intellectual conservatives everywhere for calling you a conservative. Mr. Buckley would rather masturbate in public than be associated with your ilk.

  7. Blade says:

That is an excellent find however the author at that facebook page was too wordy. He should have just said …

John Kerry, the elitist Socialist pro-Communist leftist has once again lied to further his agenda, this time by using a photo of Saddam’s crimes taken after the American liberation in 2003 for use against Syria in 2013.

That bastard did everything in his power to protect Saddam including ignoring all these photos that arrived that summer. In fact Bush 41, Colin Powell, the gulf-war coalition partners and all the Republicrats also ignored them. I wonder why?

  8. OK, fine, here is the quote that has been intentionally misused by conservative propagandists: “…. We saw rows of dead lined up in burial shrouds, the white linen unstained by a single drop of blood.”
Do you really think this is the only photo of rows of dead people in white shrouds? Because it’s not. By the way, I’m not in favor of war with Syria. Just like I wasn’t with Iraq, when I’m sure you were screaming at “leftists” for not being patriotic and supporting W’s misadventure. But I am opposed, on all fronts, to intentionally and completely dishonest arguments, and this “fake Syria photo” is one of them.

    • So the onus is on Kerry to produce the photograph.

      • Or you could google it, or go to CNN.com. But you know, I’m sure Kerry will email you a copy of the photo he was talking about.

      • You can argue that we shouldn’t be in Syria, but you can’t argue that there aren’t pictures of rows of dead people in shrouds with no blood stains there. Well, you can, but it’s not true. Also interesting that Kerry is guilty of lying until proven innocent – is that the new hallmark of the proposed conservative judicial system?

        • Judicial system? Kerry wants to start a war. The onus is on him to convict Assad. All we have heard so far is the usual Obama admin bullshit and lies.

Now I ask you, what kind of imbecile agrees to go to war without demanding a huge amount of evidence and extensive debate?

      • Donna M Scala says:

When Kerry stated his case of TV on the 30th he did NOT reference any specific pictures. There are too many photos of shroud wrapped bodies, but this was to one he used.
Also I believe the original post saying Kerry used a fake photo was retracted because it was false.
Another case of the media trying to make the news instead of just reporting it.

  9. OK, good luck here. I can only assume you were loudly opposing Bush 10 years ago, since you’re so principled on this point. You’ve offered no evidence except quoting some random article that completely makes up facts. But I’m not sure why I’m complaining, really, since this website was built on false premises.

    • You are a very confused individual.

The US is not in any way threatened by Syria, and the last thing the Middle East needs is another Obama sponsored Al Qaeda takeover. Egypt just reversed theirs.

  10. This is just too easy to ignore: “Now I ask you, what kind of imbecile agrees to go to war without demanding a huge amount of evidence and extensive debate?” NEOCONS.

    • I take it then that you are a neocon, because you are doing it today.

      • Have you honestly not seen any of the video? You should check it out, it’s horrifying. I’m not sure what we can do about it, because I’M NOT ADVOCATING WAR WITH SYRIA, but it’s pretty bad. Like I said, I just really, really despise intellectually dishonest arguments like this. The goal of this one is to make Obama/Kerry out to be propagandists & war-drum beaters as bad as Bush/Cheney/Wolfowitz, and it makes me sick, because it’s not true. Bush WANTED war with Iraq – nobody wants war with Syria.

        • Latitude says:

well…no one but Obama, Kerry, and Pelosi anyway
..so far they are going it alone

        • Donna M Scala says:

While I agree with you about the media getting the photo wrong, I do disagree with you about the reasons Obama wants to bomb Syria.
According to him he is gonna take out airstrips.what the heck good is that gonna do?
The chemical weapons will still be there. If the Assad regime is toppled without the chemical weapons being secured, what do you think the chances are that Al Qeada Linked rebels will get their hands I much of it?
Obamas war plan is like trying to put a bandaid on cancer that has metastasized.

  11. I’m sorry, “Breitbart’s site” was built on false premises. I know nothing about you. My bad. Still, trusting Breitbart to be honest is pretty damn foolish.

  12. omnologos says:

    Kerry’s full statement is here.

    Relevant excerpt:

And just as important, we know what the doctors and the nurses who treated them didn’t report: not a scratch, not a shrapnel wound, not a cut, not a gunshot wound. We saw rows of dead lined up in burial shrouds, the white linen unstained by a single drop of blood.
Instead of being tucked safely in their beds at home, we saw rows of children lying side by side, sprawled on a hospital floor, all of them dead from Assad’s gas, and surrounded by parents and grandparents who had suffered the same fate.

This seems quite a detailed description. It would correspond to Di Lauro’s Iraqi photo. Now the question is: where is the analogous, substantiated picture from Syria?

I don’t want to discuss if there is one or isn’t. I want to see it, if it exists already: and it should contain rows of dead children and adults lined up in unstained white burial shrouds, lying side by side, sprawled on a hospital floor.

    • Brian Finnegan says:

“This seems quite a detailed description. It would correspond to Di Lauro’s Iraqi photo.”

No, it wouldn’t, read the article again. It says in the picture that the boy is in a school where bodys were transported to, the quote you posted is about a hospital floor.

      • omnologos says:

there are bodies on a floor – that much everybody can see it. School or hospital, it’s immaterial from Kerry’s side.

Does anybody have a picture from Syria with the right date showing bodies on any kind of floor?

  13. B.C. says:

“White, unstained burial shrouds” is complete bullshit when talking about victims of a chemical weapon(s) attack. Chemical weapons don’t kill people very prettily. If, as we’ve been told, there were at least two different agents used, there would be massive blistering of the skin and/or mucous membranes of the victims. Being as it’s summer in the MidEast, the temperatures are a little higher than inside your average Starschmuck’s Doucheteria (I’ve been there and have the spiffy T-shirts to prove it.) and the bodies would be putrifying at an incredible rate, especially after being exposed to chemical weapons that destroy skin tissue and mucous membranes.

John Kerry is full of shit and has been since he bounced a grenade off that rock and wrote himself up for multiple Purple Hearts. If his lips are moving, one can be assured that he’s lying.

    • Bill Hartley says:

You’re repugnant, and should be ashamed of yourself.

      • B.C. says:

Me be ashamed? I’m not the one who faked injuries and wrote myself up for multiple PH’s, then pretended to throw them over the fence at the WH, then slander and liable my fellow U.S. military brethren with false testimony in front of Congress. You, on the other hand, should be ashamed for having enough sentience to browse the ‘Nets and yet be stupid enough to support a gold-digging, back-stabbing, silver-spoon Marxist.

    • Donna M Scala says:

Apparently you know nothing of the ritual Muslims use to prepare their dead. They clean the bodies of their dead Before they wrap them in their burial shrouds

  14. B.C. says:

I know the latest slobbering Obamaton will dismiss the link below because of where it’s located, but the quotes and information (all with links to their original sources) show how full of shit he is when talking about the operation to remove Sod’em Insane from power. (It wasn’t a new war. It was actually a resumption of hostilities that had been put on hold in at the end of Feb. ’91. I was there for that little joyous adventure in The World’s Largest Kitty Litter Box.)

    http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/4976/

It’s chock full of quotes from the vaunted pillars of statesmanship on the Left, regarding Iraq’s WMD’s. Here’s just one of the many:

“In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members … It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.”

This is WHY there will be war.

Take a very good look at these signatures. These neo-cons and Zio-cons are all AIPAC. And AIPAC runs Congress. The White House would never have made that announcement if they were not sure they have enough votes in the extremely unpopular US Congress. Bottom line: AIPAC – as in Israel operating the remote control – wants a war to empower al-Qaeda in Syria. I suggest a bombing date: the 12th anniversary of 9/11.

(the headline in the link is mistaken; this is about the Zio/neo-cons letter to Obama).

  18. pepper says:

Hey, where did Breitbart say this? I’m looking for a link. You don’t provide one. That’s not good. I need some backup here. People are saying Kerry didn’t use this photo at all. Can you prove it? Breitbart would be a credible source, but the fact that you don’t link makes your post suspicious.

  19. RAsp982 says:

What a joke and hack piece! Kerry never used this picture in his speech. The media like Fox News ran this image alongside Kerry speech. You can verify for yourself Kerry’s full speech – they were speeches, without any powerpoint/image/multimedia showoffs. Will we ever see a retraction of this false claim by Brietbart hacks?!?

    • I agree. The president and secretary of state owe the world a huge apology for lying about Benghazi. They claim to know every detail in Syria, and also claim that they know nothing about what went on right in the US Embassy with dozens of CIA operatives in the crowd.

I’m sure we all agree that is disgusting behavior by the White House.

  20. Bill Hartley says:

I was looking for some solid stuff on the Kerry/photo incident. Found this site. Just another pejorative, ridiculous, one-sided tirade. It’s sites that this that inflame sectarianism, and continue to stifle and ruin good interaction in this country. I wish you’d pull it down.

  21. Mike Emmet says:

Steven Goddard, I was going to share this story on fb, but before transmitting what I think we can all agree would be very important information I rigorously fact-checked it, and in the process have discovered that there is absolutely no link whatsoever between Kerry’s speech and Di Lauro’s photo. The BBC misused the photo in 2012, and Di Lauro has said absolutely nothing in the media about the photo since that time. Even your own source has retracted their unfounded post about it: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=419222671517855&set=a.198312883608836.34844.198021666971291&type=1&theater

Look, this whole chemical attack thing is highly suspect, and one would have to be living under a rock to not notice the parallels between Kerry’s speech and Colin-Powell’s speech at the UN a decade ago when he presented blatant lies about WMDs to justify Bush’s Iraq fiasco, but disseminating unfounded information without researching it first for it really undermine’s one’s position and any subsequent arguments.

    • omnologos says:

CAN ANYBODY SHOW ANY OTHER PICTURE that John Kerry may have referred to in his speech?

    • kelleyboo says:

Thanks for trying Payton. Wish “news” (Sic) agencies were held to a higher standard, like the truth. Unfortunately, many people will not check facts. Why do people think the link to the speech, though it’s readily available on youtube, is not included in the article? Because it won’t show this picture.

      • I’m sure you will be thrilled when WWIII starts.

        • kelleyboo says:

I would not be thrilled with that, nor do I believe we should interfere in Syria. I do, however, expect news outlets to report the truth instead of inflaming the public with lies. Sorry if facts upset you.

        • There are dozens of problems with the fake Syria story being generated by the White House, and the consequences will be huge. Why don’t you focus on that?

        • kelleyboo says:

Steven, the info about chemical weapons is coming from the U.N. Other countries are looking at it too and deciding what should be done. This morning, Jon McCain backed Obama. I’m focusing on the main story reported here, that Kerry used this picture to back attacking Syria, which he did not. Despite what we want to believe, we have no say in the matter of whether or not the “limited military action” takes place or not.

        • John McCain? The idiot who put Obama in the White House and thinks that CO2 is going to destroy the planet? Is that the John McCain you are referring to?

        • kelleyboo says:

I get that one, I’m talking about Obama’s second election. McCain disagreed about global warming at the time, but has come to believe it to be true.

        • I’m curious about the second debate when Obama told Candy Crowley to “get the transcript” Is it normal for candidates to pre-plan debate strategy with the moderator, and have the moderator act out a White House directed ambush on the other candidate?

          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmzGuswNDhE

      • kelleyboo says:

Could you elaborate on how John McCain, the republican candidate who ran against Obama in his first presidential election, got him elected when he ran against Romney? Can’t help you on the CO2 thing.

        • It took a world class incompetent campaign by John McCain to lose to a community organizer who had never had a real job or served in the military. McCain’s 2008 debate performance will be remembered as the worst in American history.

        • Glacierman says:

Steven Goddard the leading troll on Stevengoddard.wordpress.com

      • kelleyboo says:

Old news, why do you keep bringing up past things that are easily explained? There are these things called digital recordings and when someone disagrees with something, like a play in a football game for example, there is actual footage that can be re-watched for accuracy. I agreed that we should not engage in a war with Syria. Why do you keep trying to bring up all these points where deception may have occurred, when it did happen in this story? There’s nothing here to debate about. Go troll another site.

      • kelleyboo says:

Lol, is my face red. I thought I was responding to a (semi) legitimate news agency site’s article. I;m so sorry, didn’t mean to troll your blog. I retract that last statement as it doesn’t fit with the venue. I can apologize and print a retraction when I realize I’m wrong. Your turn.

    • Lou says:

How do we know he’s being 100% honest? We don’t.

Syrian military has pretty sophisticated weapons so if USA tries and attack Syria, the consequences could be very devastating. Another problem is that Obama is backing the rebels tied to Al Qaeda which I consider to be worse than Assad. Getting rid of Assad will lead to ethnic cleansing of Christians… Much like what Muslim brotherhood did in Egypt BACKED by Obama administration. For all we know, Kerry lied about everything. What exactly is Obama trying to achieve? Conventional weapons killed far more people than Chemical weapons did. Why are they going nuts over chemical weapon? Are they looking for an excuse to attack Syrian because it’s much more dangerous? The whole thing stinks..
