Justice For Jesse

Jesse Jackson Jr stole almost a million dollars from his Chicago constituents, but got off with a light sentence. There was probably some white person who made him do it.

Come on … can’t you find it in your heart to believe he is truly sorry … truly sorry he got caught!!

  2. SMS says:

Oprah Winfrey will probably claim that George Bush made him do it.

  3. Bob722 says:

I heard it was a white republican free range rodeo clown who done Jesse Jr. wrong…..

  4. Chewer says:

It was merely a bi-polar dilemma with the god-like voice saying “don’t do it, you’ll bun in hell” and the devilish voice saying “go ahead, it’s only a measly amount of cash that no one will miss”.
In the end, during one of his Sunday services, his pastor (Jeremiah Wright) nudged him in making his final decision with the God Damn America and those wealthy white bastards that have infested it-:)

  5. Disillusioned says:

Always sweet when those get pinched who don’t think the rules apply to them.

  6. Robertv says:

Now this is the son Obambi is looking for.

I’m sure daddy is busy apologizing for not rallying for this couple…

“The woman was forced into a back room of the house where she was hog-tied with a strips of fabric from a bedding set. She was brutally raped “in every possible way imaginable” for several hours as the assailants beat her viciously with several objects, including a broken chair leg.

By the time Christian was taken into the living room, the five attackers realized they had left their DNA on their victim. In an attempt to cover their tracks, they poured bleach down her throat and on her body before they wrapped her body in black garbage bags and covered her head in a plastic grocery bag.

“She was then placed in a garbage can in the kitchen of the house — all of this while she was still alive,”

  8. John B., M.D. says:

Local radio commenters here in Chicago are shocked he didn’t get more time behind bars. We were expecting 5-7 years (more than what was reported yesterday as the sentencing guidelines). If he behaves, does his 30 months get reduced to 15?

  9. John B., M.D. says:

Consider the sentences George Ryan and Rod Blagojevich got.

    • Obama was mad that Blagojevich didn’t sell Jackson his Senate seat.

      • John B., M.D. says:

Doubt it. Jackson Sr. wanted to cut Obama’s nuts off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQl_6buUggM

        • Richard T. Fowler says:

I think you’re both wrong. Here’s my reading of what happened, for what it’s worth.

OBAMA, through his Senate staff, arranges to have the seat put up for sale, with BLAGOJEVICH (a/k/a BLAGO) as his broker. He probably lets it be known that a minority would be preferred, but that in any event BLAGO should not let it go too cheap. BLAGO starts shopping it around, and finds that JESSE JR. is interested but does not like the asking price. He feels that he’s built up a high credit balance with the DEMOCRATS and should be entitled to a significant discount. BLAGO is not very impressed with this argument, but since JESSE is his father’s son, BLAGO pays him the courtesy of passing the request on to OBAMA through their intermediary. OBAMA’S response is a polite but firm “no” — the offer already carries a substantial minority discount, and moreover, if “availability of funds” is the issue, JESSE can consider seeking financing from his father, JESSE SR., to make up the difference.

Haggling commences which involves JESSE SR. (indirectly via his son’s requests for assistance) as well as the other three.

Unbeknownst to any of them at that point, U.S. ATTORNEY FITZGERALD has opened a criminal investigation of the matter because BLAGO was already under investigation for a multitude of reasons, and this matter was discovered in the process of monitoring communications for info on the other matters. While in the past such a matter involving a President or President-Elect would have been handled through political channels, those channels have by this time broken down because of the ongoing controversy over the choice to allow OBAMA to overtake HILLARY CLINTON in the primaries, and what that implies for the precise direction that the bipartisan decision-makers have chosen to take the country in. The traditional rules of play between the two parties have been set aside.

By the time FITZGERALD decides to go public, other potential buyers have been brought into the fray by BLAGO to put pressure on JESSE JR. to ante up. FITZGERALD would rather not wade into this but the number of conspirators is growing, limited only by the size of BLAGO’s ego, and moreover FITZGERALD’s unofficial superiors have let it be known that he’s on his own with this one, with the proviso that he has to keep OBAMA and OBAMA’s Senate intermediary out of any information he makes public. FITZGERALD understands this to mean that if he doesn’t act and the matter becomes public anyway, it’ll be his, FITZGERALD’s, ass. On the other hand, he’s also not held immune if he proceeds and despite his best efforts it ends up coming back to harm OBAMA and/or OBAMA’s agenda in some way.

In the end, he decides that the course of least risk is indict BLAGO and JESSE JR. quickly, so as to avoid having the problem of evidence changing or disappearing on him as time passes, or witnesses disappearing or recanting.

FITZGERALD leaves JESSE SR. out of it because the case against JESSE SR. is weak and also because leaving him alone is a way to curry favor with FITZGERALD’s superiors in the event FITZGERALD gets himself into a political tight spot.

After the arrests and the indictments, both JESSE JR. and OBAMA are mad at BLAGO because they feel that the whole thing is BLAGO’s “fault” because BLAGO has a big mouth and because he recklessly assumes that the people who are in a position to keep tabs on his utterances would never feel inclined to act against him or his co-conspirators. JESSE JR. is also mad at OBAMA because he feels OBAMA is greedy and if he had just taken JESSE JR.’s original counter-offer, the deal might have gotten done without anyone getting caught up in FITZGERALD’s dragnet. OBAMA is also mad at JESSE JR. for complaining and dragging his feet instead of putting more pressure on his father, JESSE SR., to cough up the extra funds that OBAMA and BLAGO wanted. Everybody is mad at JESSE SR. because they don’t share his feeling that he shouldn’t have had to pay anything for his son to get a Senate seat. And JESSE SR. remains mad at OBAMA because even though OBAMA ultimately intervened to get leniency for JESSE JR., JESSE SR. feels that OBAMA could have done much more for JESSE JR., but didn’t because, in JESSE JR.’s opinion, OBAMA is prejudiced against African-Americans and is trying to make an example out of JESSE JR. so that other African-Americans don’t behave in a similar vein toward OBAMA.

        • Richard T. Fowler says:

Correction to “in JESSE JR.’s opinion, OBAMA is prejudiced”

          “JR.” should be “SR.”
