I have and I am sure Steve has many accounts of significant increase and at other times decrease in the arctic sea ice.
The PDO is changing from its negative (warm phase) to its positive (cool phase); and with it comes a reversal in wind direction over the north pacific. Also the AMO will be changing soon. The winds effect the floating ice more in the summer. It will be interesting to see what happens to both the Arctic and Antarctic in the coming years/decades.
