Police are searching for a gunman who shot two men in the Englewood neighborhood, killing one of them, in one of at least six shootings in the city since Tuesday afternoon.
The fatal shooting happened about 1:30 a.m. in the 5800 block of South Sangamon Street, police said.
The shooter rode up on a bicycle, then stepped off and exchanged words with a 32-year-old man, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
During the conversation, the shooter pulled out and handgun and opened fire, striking the 32-year-old and a 28-year-old man who was nearby, according to police.
The older man, whose name has not yet been released, was struck multiple times and pronounced dead on the scene at 1:50 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

If Trayvon had possessed a gun, the whole Zimmerman thing would never have happened. Instead of casing out possible burglary locations, Trayvon would have gone straight home after robbing the convenience store.
