Constitutional attorney and author Kent Masterson Brown states,
“This is not a “voluntary” program. The eligible entity receiving the grant for performing the home visits is to identify the individuals to be visited and intervene so as to meet the improvement benchmarks. A homeschooling family, for instance, may be subject to “intervention” in “school readiness” and “social-emotional developmental indicators.” A farm family may be subject to “intervention” in order to “prevent child injuries.” The sky is the limit. Although the Obama administration would claim the provision applies only to Medicaid families, the new statute, by its own definition, has no such limitation. Intervention may be with any family for any reason. It may also result in the child or children being required to go to certain schools or taking certain medications and vaccines and even having more limited – or no – interaction with parents. The federal government will now set the standards for raising children and will enforce them by home visits.”

All government “freebies” come with strings attached.
Why should anyone be surprised when their government “masters” demand that they exchange the strings for shackles?
I’ll bet that those individuals who are completely dependent on uncle sugar will wear their shackles with pride. And that they will have no idea of the irony of their situation…
Remember in the debate when President Obama said… life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, guided and channeled by the government?
Stooge Romney could have put the election away right then. I could have. But he went to a canned response and ultimately lost the election.
As we see here, government doesn’t guide, and it doesn’t channel. It coerces, it steals, it lies, it cheats, it bribes itself to grow larger, and it resists being held to account in the most myriad and slippery ways imaginable.
DCFS can already visit homes where an at-risk situation is identified. This is probably much ado about nothing. Knowing IL, we’re broke, and won’t be able to afford paying people to do these inspections. Federal money will dry up real fast, if materializes at all.
