Piers Morgan was booted from the UK for publishing fake prison abuse photographs in an attempt to frame the British military.
He has now brought his criminal road show to the US, working in conjunction with the White House to destroy the Bill of Rights.
Morgan pressed Hawkins on which state had the highest murder rate in the country. When Hawkins said he didn’t know, Morgan shot back, “Allow me to help you. Allow me to help you. It’s Virginia.”
Morgan continued, “It’s Virginia, the very state you just quoted to me, actually has the highest murder rate in the country, according to 2009 statistics by the FBI.”
But a closer look shows Morgan’s statements were not true.
According to the FBI’s 2009 Crime In The United States report,
Virginia came in behind 23 others states, including Louisiana, Maryland and Tennessee, for the number of murder and non-negligent manslaughter. Virginia didn’t top the firearm murder rate category either.
Where Morgan came up with his information is not yet known. Morgan’s blog mentions the interview but doesn’t address the faulty facts. Calls made to CNN for comment were not immediately returned.

He likely did some web search and ended up with an article like this which says:
“For example, New Orleans and Richmond, Virginia had the highest murder rates in the country in 2009, according to the FBI.”

I searched for “Virginia murder rate highest” which I imagine he would have done in advance of the interview. Although New Orleans was first and Richmond was second, and of course they are cities and not states. And also, the rate did go down, which means his guest was completely correct, even if he had any grasp of geography.
So it is a fail in more than one way.
He does not know what a state is. He might think they are discussing “ESTATES”! 😉
Ignoramuses and downright liars – MSM is chock-full of them. A shame too; as people actually listen to them and believe them. We that actually check facts, develop ideas and follow up are a tiny minority.
Piers only reports what he thinks is the truth, even if it is only true in his own mind! that is what is important to Piers! Last I heard he thinks he came to the US because we wanted to bask in his wisdom! 😉
What is as sad that most of his viewers wouldn’t know the truth from his lies either and that his statements will have a shelf life. He went around calling the AR-15 an “automatic weapon” too.
He’s still the same dung-beetle who back in 2004, when editor of a British tabloid ‘The Daily Mirror’, had a story of British soldiers abusing an Iraqi prisoners. Piers shit-eater Morgan was the main person pushing this story, a story which along with the photographs were proved fake.
When he wasn’t busy making-up stories, he was in charge when a ‘pump and dump’ shares fraud was perpetrated on the British public, by that newspaper’s financial journalists whose pseudonyms were ‘City Slickers’.
