An Anti-War Republican! An Interview with Congressman Ron Paul
Paul has also been a vocal leader fighting in Congress against a war in Iraq. In doing so he has spoken truth to power with an honesty and courage progressives wish more Democratic leaders exhibited. Paul has also been a leader in warning the American public about the dangers of the police state the Bush administration is rapidly building–what the ACLU has taken to calling our “surveillance society.” It’s a place where five-count felon John Poindexter (who escaped on a technicality) runs databases out of the Pentagon that hold all of our personal information–from how we spend our money to where we go on the Internet.
And today – George Bush/Tony Blair deja vu
Royal Navy vessels are being readied to take part in a possible series of cruise missile strikes, alongside the United States, as military commanders finalise a list of potential targets.
Government sources said talks between the Prime Minister and international leaders, including Barack Obama, would continue, but that any military action that was agreed could begin within the next week.
Quickly, before the UN has a chance to prove that the US and British proxies were behind the chemical weapons attack.
The Prime Minister, however, is believed to have abandoned hope of securing any further meaningful response from the UN amid opposition from Russia.
Dems should be in an uproar about Obama’s unilateral action.
Labour said Parliament must be recalled if Mr Cameron was considering a military response, but Downing Street sources said this may not be necessary as the Prime Minister retained the right to act urgently if required.
Britain is urgently threatened by Syria? How stupid do you have to be to believe that?
Military sources suggested the early hours of the 2011 campaign against Col Muammar Gaddafi could form a template for any operation. The Libya campaign began with a blitz of Tomahawk cruise missiles from US warships and from a British Trafalgar Class submarine.
Amazing that these geniuses still have the nerve to discuss Libya. And aren’t Democrats supposed to be against illegal unilateral action and regime change?
I agree with your assessment of Ron Paul.
Laup Nor is goofier than a sh1t house mouse, is a raving anti-Semitic loon, and while he has the occasional small nugget of reason in his spew of insanity, it’s more likely a proof of the million monkeys with typewriters theory than any sign he should be taken seriously about anything other than a involuntary commitment hearing being scheduled for him.
IMHO, YMMV.
For Obama any diversion from Bengazi, the IRS and NSA scandal is a bonus, even if it makes matters worse.
Many Americans however call Ron Paul a crackpot because his stance on Iran but if asked they can’t point out Iran or Benghazi on the map.
In fact many think Iran has surrounded US military bases!
And even when Ron Paul warns the American people for the financial and economic consequence of the wars, the Obama spending policies and Obama undermining International Law and the Constitution, Americans still think Ron Paul is a crackpot.
Some people say Obama has become a “problem” now and I think they are right but the real thing to worry about is the mental state of the majority of the American People.

Just let Government run schooling and you know the result dumbing down of the population.

The Jimmy Carter Dept of Ed is the final nail in the coffin. The new Fed curriculum teaches no cursive writing (they will not be able to read founding docs, or even grandparents letters), no critical thinking skills (sheep), and teaches that communism is the best form of government.
We are doomed.
I’ve had that sinking feeling for some time. Unless a miracle happens soon, I have to agree with your final statement.
“the real thing to worry about is the mental state of the majority of the American People.”
Proven by Red above. Where does such lunacy come from???
Ron Paul was the only one talking about the real issues destroying our nation. The only one opposing the Fabian Socialist grip of the authoritarian, totalitarian global corporate/financial elite.
Reblogged this on The Firewall.
Red,
I actually think Paul was rather neutral on the Israeli-Arab conflict. (As am I.) I saw him make a speech to supporters in 2007 (saw it on Youtube but not sure if I still have the link) that contained an absolutely pro-Zionist statement that garnered lots of cheers. It wasn’t something I would’ve said, or gotten excited about. But since then he’s taken a different tack. I think he really doesn’t have strong feelings on the matter and, regrettably, was just following the political winds in both directions. I don’t think he’s anti-Semitic or anti-Hebrew.
That said, I invite you to have a look at the following position list that I’ve compiled which compares Paul with his electoral opponents, and if you like tell me which ones (or just how many of them) you disagree with. Perhaps even if you don’t answer, it might still be of interest to you.
I’ve gone ahead and left Iran off the list, since it’s clear to me that the situation there is not as cut-and-dried as he portrayed it during his campaigns. (Before posting this, I had written in the list that Paul said the U.S. was trying to set up Iran like Iraq, and that may have been true, but I must admit the situation was and is quite a bit more complicated than that.)
