Some senior Republicans in Congress on Sunday threw cold water on a cornerstone of President Barack Obama’s plan to revamp the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs–his proposal to provide a new advocate for privacy concerns.
House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R., Texas) raised questions about the proposal, which would add an advocate in the proceedings of the secret court that oversees the agency’s sweeping phone-data collection. He said he feared it would slow down antiterrorism efforts when time is of the essence.

I would have to somewhat agree. If these are “Obama” changes, they cannot be good. It would be taking a very bad situation and making it even worse.
Republicans created this mess.
I agree .. and I don’t trust either party to “tweak” the system, certainly not considering the current illegal occupant in our White House, and the completely incompetent Republican buffoons in our congress, and the Marxist commie Democrats in our congress.
I don’t trust any of them. I am relatively certain that any “revamp” by this administration, or this current congress, in my view, would only serve to create even greater Constitutional violations, and make transparency even worse. I believe any attempt to “revamp” would result in even greater deception by both parties. Until the People regain representation and take control of our government, I say it is better left alone, or completely dismantled all together. The People must regain control, else everything else will simply lead to more erosion of liberty.
This whole spying arm needs to be dismantled and the actual problem named and tackled head-on…Muslim extremism. Until we stop importing these people and continue to falsely idolize their ideology as a religion of peace when it’s in truth a death cult, then we will lose this war.
Slam shut the immigration door from these countries until they get their shit together in their homeland. This is a long term fight for survival and there’s no need for traitorious efforts to appease the enemy.

“add an advocate in the proceedings of the secret court that oversees the agency’s sweeping phone-data collection.”
The judge, with knowledge and respect for the Constitution, is supposed to be the advocate. The idea of adding an advocate is bizzaroworld. The judge, who presumably has approved clearly unconstitutional blanket search warrants, is the problem. We don’t need to “add an advocate;” we need to fire the judge.
“Those who exchange security for freedom end up with neither.” Maybe not perfect, but not a bad paraphrase of what Benjamin Franklin said. Those men were truly geniuses, more spot on now than in their own time.

Most if not all in government are power junkies. Addicts never have enough and will tell any lie or commit any crime if it helps them to get the drugs. The constitution is/was the only legal protection We The People have/had to control this drug abuse. NEVER trust an addict , NEVER.They don’t live in the real world.
Many scientists have the same problem.
And most people voting Democrats too.
