Steve, there was an actual story yesterday from Vancouver playing up a record for sunshine in July. Not a heat record. Not a record for bad weather. A record for consecutive days of sunshine. The Huffington Post Canada also ran a story, but I think it’s gone now. Anyway, these people now think SUNSHINE portents impending climate doom.

As for Julia, she’s young. She’s obviously a left wing partisan, if you read the rest of her tweets, and is a “true believer.” She’s not rational on the subject and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

  3. pinroot says:

Well, I just found out that she doesn’t even know what AGW is, so she apparently didn’t learn a whole lot at the Gorefest.

She’s not really an “environmentalist” she’s a liberal. Global warming is a liberal litmus test/cult. She doesn’t seem to know much about anything.

Just for Kicks I researched LNSO
    Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra (est.1940)

    Lebanese National Symphony Orchestra

I wonder what type of CYCLES they experience!

    Yet another casualty of Manbearpigapalooza.

  7. Anthony Bremner says:

The AGW crowd now says that heat is being buried in the ocean which actually makes sense that heat from the Sun is being buried during the PDO cold cycle and then released during the warm cycle like from 1970’s to 2000 (approx). They are in effect admitting that climate is controlled by the Ocean cycles more than Co2 since the Pacific PDO has stalled the warming along with low sunspot activity. Co2 being a minor influence that cannot offset one cool Ocean cycle let alone two at one time.. Cooling to come with the cool Atlantic cycle 10 yrs (approx) from now. So one can drive them crazy by actually agreeing with them!

      Heh. True.

But I’d still like their explanation as to how the warm water got past the surface without being noticed and that thousands of ARGO buoys can’t find warm water down there.

Posted this last Spring in response to another global warming shill predicting impending doom.

Classic set up for a neutral ENSO.

    1. Plenty of cold water in the subsurface in the east-central Pacific ENSO region.
    2. Remnants of this winters La Nina still evident at the sea surface.
    3. Below normal 200mb heights between 0-20°N across the east Pacific basin.
    4. Weakening MJO (check out the recent dailies in the SOI)
    5. Persistent -PDO pattern.

The 2xWP (west pacific warm pool) simply didn’t gather enough heat to form an El Nino. It will be dispersed out amongst the remaining cool waters from La Nina and -PDO. And as the MJO loops back to rain itself out over central America and the East Pacific we’ll also likely see an early tropical cyclone or two in the East Pacific basin between Apr 28 – May 12 (likely cooling those regions’ warm blip).

The cold in Alaska ain’t no secret either. That cold air all had to flow somewhere and where it did was into the north Pacific. That’s why Bering Sea ice is at all-time high levels and also why SST’s are running between 1-2 degrees blow normal in the northeast Pacific. The California current will be sweeping this cold water south into the ENSO regions, as it has been doing for the last two years steady, circumventing any El Nino.

Hansen will be wrong, yet again, for he doesn’t understand climate; not one bit.”

    • F. Guimaraes says:

Interesting analysis. I’d add only that the Sun is the main driver of the air circulation and if the radiations were a little stronger this year we probably would have an El Nino. Do you see any connection between the Antarctic ice and ENSO? Thanks!

    • Olaf Koenders says:

The Chicken Little’s have only just discovered the Jet Stream and are blaming CO2 for making it wiggle more, causing blocking highs and lows and “weird weather” over the Northern Hemisphere.

They’re jumping at anything to keep their religion alive. Thing is, after throwing all their virgins into volcanoes in order to satisfy their climate god, there’ll be no more virgins and nobody left to believe them.
