I agree with your assessment. If Obama wants to operate as a dictator, he needs to move to a country that uses that form of government.

When its not your business, and you have nothing to gain, why get into the fight. It is a civil war and we should not be attempting to pick the winner when both sides are losers.
It would the biggest mistake for the US to get involved in Syria. It is quite possible that the “other side” used chemical weapons as well. The other side comprises some really extreme xealots etc. Look what happened in Egypt a 100% turn round not ready for democracy yet. Anyway NH ice still at 2005 levels haha

Why Is It Urgent To Bomb Syria?
The same reason it was urgent to bomb Iraq and Libya. To stop these countries breaking up the petro dollar, moves towards which instantly converted those countries into pariah, terrorist nations. Likewise Iran and Syria.
If and when this happens the oil backed dollar becomes worthless and the 90% of Global Debt which is owed by the USA can never be repaid. The dollar and the world financial system then will collapse. While this is going to happen anyway the power base of the genocidal psychpaths that overturned the Constitution fails. If they just kill a few thousand Muslim men women and children (or maybe a few million) they can keep themselves on the gravy train and be the World Power for a few months longer. After its all over they will just have to start again.
While the USA and it’s brown nosing buddies in Europe (especially the UK) are intent on pursuing this course and while it may keep the whole rotten mass of corruption running a little while longer there is a significant chance that a Syrian response (e.g. ballistic anti-ship missiles or a lucky shot or two from something airborne) would mean the USA lost the initial engagement.
This means either:
A) The US backs off and relies on its own terrorist groups on the ground in Syria (e.g. Al Quaeda) to do the job for it.
B) A full blown troops on the ground Invasion (i.e. overt WW3 ‘cos the Chinese and Russians will not tolerate that)
C) Fairly instant World Financial System Collapse.
My guess is the pschos will reject (C) which will finish them off so it looks like (A) or (B) or (A) followed by (B) …… then followed by (C).
