2012 Joe Romm Laugher : “winters just aren’t as cold as they were in the past.”

Americans Get It: Global Warming Is Poisoning Our Weather

MARCH 2, 2012

Killer tornadoes are marking the transition from a freakishly warm winter into yet another freakishly dangerous spring.

A male senior citizen from Illinois, who feels that there is solid evidence of global warming, said that the primary reason that led him to this conclusion was “winters just aren’t as cold as they were in the past.”

Winter temperatures in Illinois have been declining for a century, with last winter second coldest on record. Five of the last seven winters in Illinois have been below average temperature.

The 2012 tornado season was the quietest on record, until it was beaten by 2013

Later that year, McKibben blamed the lack of storms on global warming.

These morons have no idea what they are talking about, and change their story every few weeks.

Like most alarmists, I think Mr McKibben probably ate way too much tuna and it has effected his cognitive function.

It is part of the disease of liberalism.

  3. Jim Keil says:

Joe Romm mentioned in his blog (2012 I believe) that he wouldn’t use the term “denier” because his family members went through suffering during the Holocaust. Reading his blog lately, that term is used constantly.

  4. Andy DC says:

Warm weather is due to global warming, cold weather is due to global warming, normal weather is due to global warming. Lots of hurricanes due to global warming, no hurricanes due to global warming, etc., etc.

That is what is called having all your bases covered. Also pandering to the dumbest of the dumb.

    The key word being moron.

  6. Gamecock says:

Male senior citizens from Illinois wish for colder winters. Wait . . . what?

  7. SMS says:

Anyone who claims that the weather we are experiencing is the coldest or warmest is blowing smoke. The world has a long history of very cold glaciations and extreme warm periods that brought us out of those glacial periods quickly. People like Romm and McKibben are not likely to change their views; they have their reputations at stake. But others should see the irony of making such outrageous claims.

Basic rules: if it’s something they didn’t expect: “climate change” caused it; if it’s something they expected: “climate change” caused it.

Their is a guy in Canada (if I remember correctly) who is pushing for organic farming. I like organic food, full of minerals, no pesticides etc. but its to save the planet, And even to reverse climate change, he is going to champion climate change reversal. To which point in time!?
Organic food and push bikes have forever been tarnished by total morons. I know people say dont sink to name calling but come on. These people are compleate weirdos.

Last year some people in Atlanta might have disagreed. I wonder why they didn’t quote them?

I find that this anecdotal recital of weather in one’s own life is a common theme when I participate in general conversations about AGW. People tend to remember events that support their position, forgetting the ones that do not. I mentioned in one such encounter that we had not had a hurricane in over 6 years, the other person said “What about Hurricane Gaston?” I said that it was 8 years ago. She looked surprised.
