Algorithmic Democratic Voting Fraud

“I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,” Moynihan said. “You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.”

Cook County Board of Elections Deputy Communications Director Jim Scalzitti, told Illinois Watchdog, the machine was taken out of service and tested.

“This was a calibration error of the touch-screen on the machine,” Scalzitti said. “When Mr. Moynihan used the touch-screen, it improperly assigned his votes due to improper calibration.”

‘Calibration error’ changes GOP votes to Dem in Illinois county | Fox News

Bullshit. I am developing touch screen software right now, and calibration errors are a few pixels at most.

The calibration error was getting caught. That’s ok, the patriotic deceased who never miss a chance to vote Democrat will make up for the error.

  2. BobW in NC says:

What I find interesting is that this situation was developed over a number of episodes of Scandal a couple of seasons back. The current (fictional) President of the US (in Scandal) Okayed this subterfuge of “rigging” voting machines in a particular county of the critical state, and won as a result!

What’s interesting here is that it happened in Cook County, state of Illinois, city of Chicago, according to Fox News. Curious coincidence that this was Obama’s home town for a while, and the state in which he was a state senator.

    Curious, yes?

  3. SMS says:

This type of scandal goes back at least to the Nixon-Kennedy election when it was alleged, and I think later proven, that ballot boxes of Republican ballots were dumped into the river; giving the election to Kennedy.

  4. wyoskeptic says:

My only question is: How many of the other machines were checked for this same “calibration” error. It is, after all, only an “error” when detected.

We are talking about Chicago, after all.

  5. Back in the days of crt touchscreens, it was conceivable. If it was 0.2mm off now i think you would scrap the screen. The calibration claim is very testable… by an election fraud prosecutor.

    • squid2112 says:

NO, not even then. I built such systems as early as mid 80’s, and there is NO WAY that you could conceivably create such a “calibration” issue, not without purposefully doing so. I have worked with almost every type of touch screen system conceived. This sort of “calibration error” is not possible.

      • Robertv says:

        Conspiracy thinking ?

      • The ones I’m talking about are overlays. They have no idea what monitor is underneath and can be calibrated for wrong 0,0 and wrong x,y scaling if you want. Smart enough to switch a vote? No, but large linear cal errors are easy enough to do. Vote switching is much more involved. Ask Cook county.

We were testing BARCO displays for MIL application (late 90’s), subjecting them to heat and humidity. They went totally out to lunch (can’t recall if they recovered when cool and dry).

  6. bobmaginnis says:

Works both ways: “A Pennsylvania electronic voting machine was taken out of service after being captured on video changing a vote for President Obama into one for Mitt Romney, NBC News has confirmed. Republicans have also said machines have turned Romney votes into Obama ones.

Vote by mail like Oregon and Washington is better, paper ballots, no long lines in poor districts, lots of time to vote instead of restricting days to vote.

    • Yes, and the most important thing, NO IDs! You like that, don’t you? {:- D

      • Ben Vorlich says:

The alledgedly secret ballot in the UK works like this.
1 You receive a polling card through the post with a number on it
2 You take this to the named polling station
3 The official at the station crosses your name out on the electoral roll
4 The officer write your number on a numbered ballot paper and gives it to you.
5 The number is written against you name on the roll
6 You vote or deface the ballot paper.

I have asked several Returning Officers about this traceability and they all have the same story that it is to detect vote rigging. When we have had Prime Ministers like Blair and Thatcher who loved being in power then I regard this a s a very dangerous thing.

I live in Oregon and while my Canadian daughter in law was getting ODL ,she was asked do you want to register to vaote :No I am Canadian – the clerk sais I am prohibited by fed law drom asking your race creed “national identity” the next two Guatamalans were instructed ny there intepreter to say Yes ! Ah yes the Oregon mail in ballot system !

    • there is no substitute for victory says:

This is how you keep elections from going negative, you just spend your TV ad dollars to buy the mail in paper ballots and fill them in back at the candidate’s campaign headquarters.

    • Justa Joe says:

I’m against these Donk promoted early vote shenannigans. It’s an 4 lane super highway for voter fraud.

  7. squid2112 says:

I am in full agreement with Tony. I built touch screen systems back in the early to mid 90’s, back when they were rather cutting edge. There is NO WAY that this is a “calibration” issue, even back then it could not have been. This is 100% fully blown bullshit! They are simply trying to pull a fast one by preying upon peoples ignorance.

    • Justa Joe says:

The people that actually believe that this was a “calibration error” are the same ones that believe Lois Lerners emails were all lost when her PC’s local hard drive “crashed.”

  8. Andy DC says:

Both sides will cheat to the maximum extent possible. That is a fact of life that has been around for a very long time. Gore thinks he was robbed, Kerry thinks he was robbed, Nixon thinks he was robbed, etc., etc.

    • Justa Joe says:

Yeah sure, you’ll find an equal amount of voter fraud in middle class suburbs as you will in urban areas, housing projects, and Donk precincts where there is basically no Republican presence?

I would say that the ratio of GOP cheating to Donk cheating is about 1 to 1000 conservatively.

  9. pinroot says:

We have some touch screens at work. These occasionally “reverse” the Y axis so that when you move up, the cursor moves down. I don’t know what causes it, but it happens from time to time. Of course, especially given the location, I have a feeling that this calibration error was a little more intentional.

  10. B says:

I remember when rigged voting machines was a conspiracy theory only believed by kooks.

  11. Anto says:

Give me a hanging chad anyday!

  12. nielszoo says:

Having also coded for touchscreens I find it interesting that the purported “calibration error” in either x/y translation, 0,0 or scaling would have the exact same effect on every single race. Vote for the Rep and select the Dem instead… screen after screen after screen. The odds of that happening by accident are about the same as the odds of me winning the Boston Marathon and the Lottery on the same day… and then being elected Pope… never gonna happen.

I grew up in St. Louis and there used to be billboards on the Illinois side of the river that said “Are You Registered? Cook County Is!” and that was almost 50 years ago. It hasn’t changed a bit. The rules are not for Dems and Progs… they’re above all that. Laws just limit them so they’re ignored.

  13. Justa Joe says:

After 6 years of the most partisan and corrupt administration in the history of the USA. I expect an uprecedented level of Donk voter fraud this time around. The Donks feel that they have a lot at stake so they’re going to pull out all the stops and call in all their markers.

  14. policycritic says:

Do touch screens disallow write-in votes?

  15. policycritic says:

Security expert Bruce Schneier: “I think this is the first documented case of election fraud in the U.S. using electronic voting machines” (BTW, involved both parties). This is an old article, but it involved the (since) notorious ES&S machines.

  16. John B., M.D. says:

Funny thing here. I pass the Schaumburg Public Library (where the faulty voting machine was located) on my 10 mile running route. And the incumbent Democrat in the race against Moynihan is actually a personal friend of mine, Michelle Mussman, someone of the highest personal character and trustworthy. She got my vote not because I agree with her politically, but because she’s trying to clean up the swamp run by House Speaker Madigan (who actually wields all the power in Springfield [not the governor]).

  17. wyoskeptic says:

It is spreading. Now in Maryland.

    http://watchdog.org/179372/calibration-issues-maryland/

Any bets that before all is done, the democrats all get re-elected by large margins? (At least where-ever there are these touch screen voting machines????)
