there’s a news story the other day about coffee bean prices exploding higher because of frost in Brazil. (sounds like global cooling is a bigger problem than global warming). I decided not to post the link because as I read the story, it blamed heat and drought as well. I can’t tell from the story what actually caused the decline in the Brazil coffee bean harvest. the story does say that things will return to normal in a few years.

Bob …. I was watching throughout the storm and the max winds I found at 10 metres / 30 feet were peaking at 120 kph or around 75 mph barely a Cat 1.
Melissa is a significant rain event and flooding at the coast but the winds don’t look to be any record breaking stuff and only of concern to those living in shacks or trailers.
The wind speed calculate from satellite data is very inflated and the climate crooks have been doing this for almost a decade ….every Cat 4 or 5 comes ashore with max Cat 1 winds … funny how that happens.
I’ve seen some photos of heavy damage. I’ve seen no photos of buildings that are no longer there. isn’t that supposed to happen when you have a cat 5? there’s nothing left but a slab?
My guess is that you could probably lean against some of those buildings, and they would have fallen down. I doubt that any, but the ones owned by large hotel corporations, were built to hurricane standards, or even common building code standards.

maybe we should question all the states high temperature records before 1950. at a quick glance it looks like 36 of our 50 states set their high temperature records prior to 1950. I live in Minnesota and our high temperature record is almost 100 years old and it’s 114. in the last 50 years I don’t think we’ve had a high temperature higher than 106, 107… maybe a 108.

I did a little quick research. it appears that the hottest it’s been in Minnesota in the last 70 years was 110, for one day, in southwest Minnesota.. it doesn’t get as hot as it used to. but it appears that it doesn’t get as cold at night as it used to.
