Sadly, nothing better could be expected.

Paul Homewood has a good post on this:
“What has she been smoking to imagine that the UK’s reduction of 16 million tonnes can have had the slightest effect on climate, when the Rest of the World has increased their emissions by 68 times as much?

And, God forbid, this ludicrous woman is actually an Energy Minister! Heaven help us all.”

Didn’t Fannie Armstrong tell Baroness Vermin that CO2 has recently reached the dreaded but arbitrary 400ppm, and it’s still climbing?

The horse has died. Don’t tell the warmists that their continued flogging is in vain. The less gullible passengers have exited the wagon and are trying to slink into the background. There’s still a very vocal group staying put and calling for continued beatings (and donations).

The tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians, passed on from generation to
      generation, says that,

« When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount. »

However, in modern business, education and government, a whole range of far more advanced strategies are often employed, such as: « When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to

      1. Buy a stronger whip.

      2. Change riders.

      3. Threaten the horse with termination.

      4. Appoint a committee to study the horse.

      5. Arrange to visit other countries to see how others ride dead horses.

      6. Lower the standards so that dead horses can be included.

      7. Reclassify the dead horse as « living impaired ».

      8. Hire outside contractors to ride the dead horse.

      9. Harness several dead horses together to increase the speed.

      10. Provide additional funding and/or training to increase the dead horse’s
      performance.

      11. Do a productivity study to see if lighter riders would improve the dead
      horse’s performance.

      12. Declare that as the dead horse does not have to be fed, it is less costly,
carries lower overhead and therefore contributes substantially more to the
bottom line of the economy than do some other horses.

      13. Rewrite the expected performance requirements for all horses.

      14. Promote the dead horse to a supervisory position.

Let me get my mind around this. The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has not been higher for centuries. The C02 concentration is still rising. Meanwhile Man Made Global Warming has taken a powder because of some actions that England has done? Wow, more H2O is supposed to make the climate hotter not cooler.

What in the heck did Jolly Old England do to derail global warming? There is no path open to Great Britain that will reduce world wide Carbon Dioxide emissions except maybe for the British to re- colonize India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, The Middle East, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the better part of Africa so that the English can once again impose a hand-to-mouth existence on fully a quarter of all humans on Earth.

In my opinion the IPCC and AGW is about the Third World making up for the time that they supposedly lost while the Third World was busy bending and scraping to European Colonialism. The fact that European elites have a silly guilt complex over the zebra skin rug in their Aunt Betty’s parlor that her father shot and killed in Uganda during the Great War doesn’t help matters either.

Baroness Verma is regularly outclassed by questioners, including Lord Ridley. In her own special way she’s a Godsend to sceptics.

I’m noticing that the oh so egalitarian leftards don’t disdain the titles of nobility when it comes to themselves.

I’ve been anticipating this government response for some time. Politicians are so predictable, unlike the weather, even though they do flap in the breeze.
